    Hi,

While my babies still fit in their car seats, I feel like we should get them the bigger size, the ones with straight back!

At what age you changed your babies' car seats and which brand you recommend?

    Thanks a bunch.

My boys grew out of the height limits of their carrier around 5/6 months. We got a convertible seat since they needed to be rear facing for another 6 months or so. Actually, they are still rear facing, but that is beside the point. We have the Evenflo Triumph Advance (but in different color) and really love it. The straps are so easy to adjust! If they are wearing a jacket or overalls one day and tshirt and shorts the next I just tighten/release with the push of a button!

we switched ours about a month ago - I just could not carry them anymore, it was killing my back and neck! We also got the Evenflo Triumph Advance. I really like them and the covers are machine washable!

Like Megan, we switched from the infant seats to the Evenflo ones. We did this when our twosome was about 10 months old. They were very easy to install in the car, the straps are easy to adjust and we are pretty pleased with them. Good luck!

We have always switched our babes about 4-5mths as they've outgrown by height. But these ones may be in til about 6mths - they are about an inch shorter than their sibs at this age.

we've always gone to Britax seats - first the roundabout and now the Marathon. My 5yr old JUST out grew his Marathon last month.

I am a Britax snob - I have really liked our Marathon for DD then DS - we moved DD to the Frontier - but I think I will get Roundabouts for the twins. The Marathon has impressive limits, but your child will likely not ride in that type of seat long enough to max out and Roundabout is quite a bit less expensive.

We love our radian for our singleton and that will be what we are getting for the twins when they outgrow their infant seats. We have 3 under 17 months right now and an 11 year old so we are thankful to have found ones that will fit three across in the back of the van when the time comes. Best Invention Ever! Good luck deciding!

I too am a BRITAX fan. My three year old has a marathon, which I will also be getting the twins once they are out of their infant seats.

We are due for new seats next fall as ours expire and I'm really tempted to try the Radians for the twins for the reason Michelle said - they fit three across. The Marathons are big seats and we'll just have that little bit of extra room for oxygen in the truck if we put the twins into Radians. THe price is almost the same.

LOL exactly! They are awesome seats too, very highly rated!

our twins at 18 mo. are still fitting in their SafeSeats - rated to 30lbs and for taller than the 22lb carriers. I still use the Snap & Go stroller weekly and will one day switch them to convertible seats... but until then, i will wait for either better carseat options to come out... or to get a great sale... seems that every few months they come out with new safety devices on the seats. good luck with your decision.

ours don't know any better and still like to lounge in their carriers! and we're planning on rear facing for quite a while - at least until 2 or 3yrs old. so I don't feel the rush since they are still fitting in their carriers.

I switched mine to marathon's at 3 months old, they were getting too heavy and awkward to carry in the infant seats, plus it was getting hot outside and they were sweating in them/

If my oldest dd hadn't been so dang long, and outgrown her graco comfortsport at 2 yrs old (height wise, she's very tall), I probably would have just used that and bought a second comfortsport, I really like it. But, since we had bought her a marathon anyways, we moved her to a different carseat, used our marathon for one baby and an awesome friend of mine "donated" her extra marathon to our cause! ;)

I have both the Evenflo Triumph Advance and the Marathons. I would go with the Marathons if you can. Reason being, they go forward facing to 65 pounds and pretty much negates the need for a booster seat and the cost.

We have the Evenflo Triumph Advance seats. We switched at about 7 months. (We didn't care to take the carriers out of our car anymore). We like their new seats. We will likely need to switch them to boosters when they are preschoolers. I researched booster seats and there are high rated booster seats that are inexpensive (well under $50).

When my runty boys finally outgrow their infant seats, we will be getting the First Years True Fit Convertible seats - have great safety ratings and relatively inexpensive.
