Avocado

A quick question for you mommies who give their LOs avocados:

How many times per week you give you LOs avocados and how much?

I started giving mine avacados once a week to start with and they´d share a whole one with banana and yogurt all pureed in together. If it was too thick then I´d add fresh orange juice to it. They loved it. After I saw they could handle it, I´d offer it maybe twice a week but I can´t remember what age I started giving it to them. Older than your LOs though. If your pedi has given you the green light then I´d start off with small quantities & see how they go. GL!

 

Basically I gave mine as much as they were willing to eat. Mine don't eat a whole lot. I gave it to them as often as I had it, so maybe once a week after my trip to the grocery store.

 

Same here. My boys didn't like it at first, but now love it. My picky eaters will share a half of one now, but I don't think there is any limit. It's a great source of nutrition.

 

Indeed it's a great nutritive food for babies! however if I give my LOs avocados 5-6 days per week, is it too much?

 

Mine love it. They will split a whole one at this point. I have some frozen, and it's in the rotation with everything else, so it usually comes up once a week. If I have some fresh ones, and they seem hungry after whatever they've had that day, I'll give it to them because it's the only thing I have that isn't frozen. So yeah, 1-2x per week.

 

Mine split a half an avocado. They like it in yogurt or in chunks. They probably have it 2-3 days per week.
