I'm dreading turning the clocks back this weekend. My girls don't adjust for a good two weeks and are crrrrrrranky during that time.

Anyone else not have smooth transitioners?

Nope, dreading it with fear and trembling. Mostly because little guy will now want to wake at 5 am and the twins at 6 am. I hate getting up before sunup!

If I didn't have a job and other obligations I would totally boycott it... again! HATE CHANGING THE CLOCKS!

Amazingly mine have done alright with any time changes...I have no clue why that is. But, I'm keeping them up late and hoping they'll "sleep in." We'll see how it goes this year...I'm hoping they aren't up with the chickens.

I am counting on tiring them out with an evening of trick or treating. Then putting them to bed a bit later than normal. It will work, right? :pardon:

I'm sure it's going to back fire on us and they'll wake up even earlier and then give us h*ll the next day for letting them stay up so late.

Yes, dreading the fact that they will be up at crack:30, and then whiney for the rest of the day since they will be tired. I have a hard time adjusting too. Can't wait! :faint:

The girls usually don't notice too much :tomato: However, I have terrible sleepers anyway and wouldn't know the difference. <_< I plan to do the same as Doodle and hopefully it will work.

Luckily, we've never really had any issues around the change. Hoping that they will be all tuckered out from trick or treating (the reality is they will be wired from all the C-A-N-D-Y).

I think I'm in the minority...mine have never noticed much. It's only an hour, and our schedules fluctuate enough on the weekends that it's insignificant.

    Please don't :tomato: :pardon:

Of course, I say that, and I've probably totally jinxed myself!

my girls are finally FINALLY waking up at 7am and not 6... i guess we're going back to 6am for a few days :(
i'm thinking of keeping them up a little later, then going to bed at the same time as them!

Last daylight savings I just kept them on old time. All of the sudden they were sleeping in an hour later and going to bed an hour later (which was good for me because I barely saw them before they went to bed since I come home from work at 6:00).

For the last 2 weeks Ezra has been waking up at 4:30 and has just not gone back to sleep and has been screaming blue murder and waking his brother up (it never used to wake him up). I'm sorry, what's going to happen now? 3:30? I don't think so! It's going to be a nightmare!

The time change doesn't usually affect my girls, and since I have to get up early tomorrow, it won't matter much. GL everyone!

You got it sistah! My kids took naps today(They have colds, and I threatened no TOT if they didn't  ). They haven't taken naps since they were 2. That should really mess it up! :panties:

My plan is already failing. I planned to keep them up until 9, but Meara crawled under the entertainment cabinet with her blankie around 7:45. Poor punkin was so tired from t-or-t'ing AND is getting a cold :( Ana layed down on the den floor around 6 when we got back from t-or-t'ing and only moved to eat dinner and take a bath. After bath, she plopped back in her spot, so I put them out of their misery at 8 and they went right to sleep. We'll see how morning goes

GL to the rest of you :lazy: :panties:

Me too! lol...An hour just isn't significant enough for them to care/notice. Never had a problem. Thankfully, lol.

Good luck to everyone - we don't do DST here (thank goodness), but I am sure my kids would notice the change, so I feel for all of you!

The time change has never really been an issue for us. My girls are pretty flexible with their schedule, and they both love to sleep. Under normal circumstances, I would never post such a thing for fear of jinxing myself, but Grandma has the girls tonight so I don't really care if they get up too early tomorrow. :D I hope the transition goes smoothly for everyone tomorrow!

You don't?? I think I need to move to AZ! I hate DST. *I* don't adjust well, never mind the chickies. They don't seem to mind to much, but I forgot about the whole morning routine being off.... boo!

We've never done anything different. If I remember correctly, they do fine that day, but then about a week or so later, they start either sleeping in, or waking early. I think when we spring ahead, they woke early. Here's to hoping they wake late tomorrow? I get up with the baby, and dh gets up with the boys, so to me, it doesn't really matter!

They went to bed at 8pm. We actually went ToT'ing twice-once at my MIL's street(one mile long....we did a few houses, not ALL). Then we got back in the car, and made it home in time to do a few houses in our neighborhood. The boys didn't even eat dinner until we got home at 7pm! They were great about going to bed too-the last few nights, Anthony jumps up from under the covers as soon as you reach the door and screams-so tonight was nice.

We'll see how the morning goes...

    That's right!! :girl_devil:

Mine are just getting up. This is their :db: normal :db: time. For a while they were going down between 6:30 and 7 and sleeping until about 7:30, sometimes 8. I don't want a 6:30 wakeup again!!!!!!! :grr: :grr: :grr:

They went to bed super late. It was a beautiful night in FL so we were outside until 10pm. :woah: I had one in our bed at 6am and the other woke at 7. :gah:

Its gonna be a loooooooooooooooooog day.

Everyone was up for the day at their regular time (8am- the new 7am). But that doesn't tell the whole story. I can't blame it on DST, but rather long day yesterday and now getting sick. I got up 2x per girl last night :lazy: Meara was up for 2 hours one of those times. I'm beat, and we will all definitely take a nap this afternoon. KNOCKING LOUDLY ON WOOD that they will nap. Hope others had a better night than us.

Well, we ate dinner on the later side last night (after TOT). Liam went to bed around 8:30 and N&M went at 9ish. Liam got up at 7 AM. Meghan at 7:15 and Nolan is still snoozing away in there. I, however, was up at 6 AM and already went to the store to get milk before anyone else stirred. :) So much easier than going with three kids when the hubby is working!
