I know someone posted great links a few months ago, but I can't find the post. Do any of you have any toddler chairs that you love? My LOs both try to sit on everything lately. It started with DD backing up onto my lap when I sit on the floor - she uses my folded legs as her little seat, kicking her feet and everything. It's adorable, but it tells me she'd like her own chair. Now they try sitting on pillows and blocks, you name it. I was looking at the plush animal seats and they look cute, but I'm not sure how comfortable the big head on the back would be. I'm not looking for anything with a theme - no Dora or Cars or Spiderman. Just a plain, cute, comfy chair. Any recommendations?

That bear chair is adorable! We have been looking for some also and haven't made a final decision. I like the pottery barn ones but I just can't pay that much for them. I've looked online at Target, Toys R Us, and Wal-mart and they all have some cute ones that are plain, but some of them are still pretty expensive.

Suzy, I couldn't open the link either.

we love our chairs! we got them for their first birthday and they get lots of use!
They especially like to sit in them while I read to them :)

TODDLE ROCK They are SOLID chairs, great quality. Shipping was high for us since we live in Alaska so I called the number on the website. I had them ship parcel post inteasd of UPS and it saved me a bundle. I also asked for a discount because I was buying 2 and they gave me 10% off.

P.S.- the babies are getting 2 sweet pea players for xmas from their Grandma & grandpa. They have already been ordered, thanks for the tip!

We have the PBK Anywhere Chairs and have had them since the kids were 18 months old and they still love the chairs. They are perfect for kids (very durable, soft and comfy) and even I can sit on them when in the playroom. :good: good luck with your decision!!

Oooh - I love all of these! Liz, am I reading it right that for the PBK chairs you have to buy the inserts and the covers separately? They're really cute, but that's a lot, even on sale! I love the other two...now to decide between a rocker or flat chair. Hmmmmmm. Either way I like them all much better than the bear - they look very comfortable! Jess, do yours actually rock in them or just sit? I'm just picturing one getting their fingers squashed while the other rocks  Judy, I think I may be going with the ones you posted :) Thanks!

PS: Jess - Smart grandparents for ordering two sweet peas...we only have one and they both want it all the time!

Those are SO cute! I have been thinking about the PBK chairs but I like these better. My girls love to rock. I'm going to order these for one of their Christmas presents! What are the sweet pea players you speak of?

I give in and we (well Mamaw) is getting them the PBK chairs for their birthday in December. I found the inserts on ebay a bit cheaper with no shipping and will get the covers from PBK. I like the other chairs, but my kids are MESSY and friends say the PBK covers come off and wash well (no fading/shrinking in 4 years). I finally decided to go ahead. We have the little bitty themed chairs right now (Cars and Elmo) and they love them. They are getting too big for them though.

I posted about them in the holiday gift thread (with a discount code if you decide to get one). They are these mp3 players for kids with parent controls so you put on the music, pick the volume and playlist you want (you can have 3 - I do play songs, audio stories, and quiet songs) them to listen to, and they can push buttons til the cows come home jumping from song to song. They're pretty big so you don't lose them, plus they're water resistant and pretty rugged. Ours has been dropped more times than I care to admit. It's awesome for traveling, and every kid age 6 and under who has seen the thing has grabbed it, pushed buttons, and danced. My LOs got ONE to share as a birthday gift...but I may have to get them a second one to stop the fighting!

It works now! They're really cute, too - I think it was your post I was searching for...you posted a link to them a while ago, right? Decisions, decisions!

    Yep, that I did! :)

Oh and FYI about 'rocker' chairs. While I was deciding a friend of mine made a good point. With rockers and two toddlers, that probably wouldn't be the best route to go. Imagine one playing on it while the other is around it - this can spell 'squished fingers'! Oie, I didn't want to take the chance. Just the thought of it made me cringe [IMG] [IMG]

Anyhoo - Originally I was looking at the PBK chairs, but I saw how much they were and knew we couldn't afford TWO of those. We settled with the Walmart ones and the girls loved them from day one. The only thing with them is you have to spot clean them [IMG]

Ok, I LOVE those toddle rock chairs. They are adorable and I don't think the price is that bad! Thanks so much for the link!

We've never had a finger pinching incident. There isnt enough room to really "rock" hard enough that you could get a finger in the way. Another TS mom on here (Dezmitch) bought them at my recommendation and they've been super happy with theirs too.
Normally when one twin is sitting in their chair, the other wants to sit in their own chair OR they will stand behind the first twins chair and act like they are helping to rock them.
The chairs are sturdy, easy to clean, seriously I have no complaints :p

a couple of weekends ago, i bought 2 of those tiny, $25 plush chairs from toys r us, one pink and one purple, with characters on them. the girls LOVE them. they will both sit in their chairs with their sippy cups and watch tv. they are soft and easy to turn over if nobody is sitting in them, and it's good practice for them to sit it back upright after it's fallen over. they are also so low to the ground that if the child falls out, it's no big deal, there's no real fall anywhere. they like to pick them up and relocate them sometimes. it's definitely helped take the attention off the adult seating temporarily.

I ended up buying inserts for the pottery barn chairs on ebay for $65 each with free shipping. I found covers (non PBK but look very similar)that work with them for $10 each. I am planning on giving them for their 2nd bday a few days after Christmas. For me it all came down to being able to clean and wash the covers.

For those of you who bought the Pottery Barn chairs, did you buy the "First Chair" which has an age range of 1-3 and is smaller, or did you just buy the regular "Anywhere Chair" which is bigger? I'd like to ask the in-laws to buy these chairs for the boys for Christmas, but I'm not sure if I should have them get the smaller chairs and risk them growing out of them sooner, or go for the bigger chairs and have them be a little too big (or wait until their 2nd birthday to ask for them).

    Help!! :help:

I bought our PBK chairs on ebay, half of what they cost in the store. I went with the regular size ones though. They are almost big enough for me to sit in them. I think the oversized ones would be too big... and the My first size would be too small. I would expect that they will last a long time so for me it was way worth the money. They flip them over and use them as slides, hide under them like a fort, sit in them, play hide and seek, curl up and "read" a book... it was the best investment ever.

Ask for them now, they'll be in them for a while, I'm sure. I got mine when the kids turned 1 and they are all over them.

I have a question about the toddle rock chairs, I read on the site that the seat dimensions are 10x11. Do the chairs seem small to you? Or do you think they will outgrow them early on?

The chairs are small and studry. I think the 10x11 is probably the actual "butt portion" of the chair. They have a weight limit of 50 pounds and are recommended up to age 4.
I think my twins will have no problem using them up until that age.

I'm trying to convince my dh that we need soft chairs for our boys, but he is insisting that boys don't sit still long enough to spring for the PBK stuff. And long term for us to look at beanbag seats. I'm thinking about how great those slip-covers sound. It's not a girl-y thing to have good seats, right?

There has got to be more affordable options with easy clean slip-covers.

btw just notice pbk is having a sale.

Ca2pa2005 - Where did you find the other covers for the PBK inserts?

Also, my SIL recommended the Anywhere chair size so that's what we are going with. She had the smaller one for her daughter and she outgrew it too soon. Her son got the Anywhere chair one and it's just right. They played with them and used them until 4 or 5.

Awesome. I just asked for them for Xmas from the in-laws hoping that the expense will keep my MIL from buying the boys 10,000 pieces of plastic crap.
