I received 2 as a gift and we used them from 3 months to almost a year (my two were and still are skinny things). I find them helpful in teaching the kids to sit and they were easy for feeding them solids before the kids were big enough for their high chairs.

Maybe one. Mine didnt care for them at all. Sold them for $25 at a MoMs sale.

I had two on loan from a friend. We only used them for two months (mine are chunky monkeys). They are good to have, but I would not have spent money on them. See if you can borrow from someone.

I had two and we did use them but for a very limited time. I would see if you could find them used, Craigslist maybe.

I received two as gifts also, and the babies did not love them. I would look at a consignment shop as others have suggested just in case they don't care for them much!

I would recommend getting them used if you can... they are $40... for molded foam... very easy to disinfect yourself for used.

and I guess that's why my skinny babies can still sit in them... they are 18 months old... and still drag them around sometimes to sit in.

I am also thinking about getting one of these, but wondering if you can leave baby in them "unattended", not for a long time, just to go to the door, throw the laundry in etc, for now i still have mine in the baby swing, but she doesnt seem to be happy there

I didn't get them and really don't think they would have been that useful to me. I have high chairs that recline so my babes were using them from a young age (mostly to sleep in when they were little and we were eating supper). I got lots more use out of my bouncy chairs.

I did look for some used but just never had the money to spend. In hindsight it worked out for the best, since my dd has always been chunky and from what I read, chunky thunder thighs don't fit so well in the seats! :)

Definitely overpriced for an item you may only use for a short time. We didn't use ours much. DS never liked it. He would arch his back and fuss when he sat in it. If you get one, I would get it used.

I agree- look into getting them used. We have 2. We had one from ODD and I picked up a second one last week or so from the Children's Orchard. They are so useful especially since one of my girls has reflux and needs to sit up after eating.

We used them instead of highchairs for most of the first year. We had the trays so it was nice to use at my parents house.

DD would sit in hers no problem, but DS only used his for a couple of months before figuring out that he could arch back and basically get himself almost out of the thing. Nikki - I definitely wouldn't leave them unattended in them even if they are in a safe area because they can flip them or find a way out if they really try. I was always nervous about them. The friend who gave them to us used hers for the first two years with the tray for feeding, so I guess it depends on the baby. I agree with the others - get them used if you decide to get them at all. It was really cute when they were first learning to sit up - they were so happy to be upright that it was worth having them, but other than that, they just took up space.

Definitely used is the way to go. We used them for a bit. But then recently both of my girls were able to wiggle out or fall out and then we had to stop using them. They are certainly not worth $40 each.

I used mine from 5-10 months but only for feeding the boys at the table. They didn't like to be in them otherwise. I would only get one having two for me was kinda useless. If you are looking for a seat that they can sit and play in We got the super seat and it has a try with toys. They boys liked it and it had a seat belt so they couldn't flip themselves out. The tray is a little flimsy but they liked to play in it.

I found one on craigslist and then I borrowed one from my sis in law.. I am glad I did.. because one of my girls will just sit happily but the other arches her back and nearly falls out. I think it depends on the baby.. so I would try and find one used if I were you

I started using them this week. One of my girls has a little less head control so I put a magazine behind her so her head doesn't go backwards. They love them! They both have loved to sit up for so long! We put them in the middle of the dinner table while we have dinner and they just babble and smile while we eat. Its nice!

We used them for a few months. They were great when I moved the kids around to different rooms. I think that you're not supposed to keep them in Bumbos for more than 1/2 hour at a time though.
