I originally posted a topic about the Step 2 grand walk in kitchen and my concerns with how tall it is and if they are going to get good use out of it. I have heard that some kids play with their kitchens up to age 5 or 6+. I need a kitchen that will accommodate my 3 children at the same time, becuase I am sure there will be times they all want to play with it. I would love to hear any and all recommendations/suggestions!

    Thanks so much.

    We have this one:

All 3 of my boys can play with it at the same time - and it is nice one or two of them can be on one side while the other one(s) are on the other side. We bought it for our older DS when he was 2.5 and he's now 5 and still plays with it, as do the little guys.

    Happy Shopping! :)

I can't tell you if I would recommend it-yet. But we got the boys the Step 2 50's Diner for their Christmas gift. I hope it can easily have three kids using it, as I know the baby will be playing with it eventually! It has one side you cook on, and the other side has a booth to it. Very cute. But-not your typical "kitchen." So-that may not be what you are looking for.

I'd recommend anything that has two sides or where you can separate pieces. The Step 2 Grand Walk in seems like it would fit the bill, but because it has those arches between the sections, it's difficult for taller kids to fit inside. If you want a plastic kitchen, the Diner that Meg recommended is really cute. There's also a grill version with a kitchen on one side and an outdoor grill on the other. And if you want a wooden kitchen, quite a few places sell pieces that you can space apart. That allows more kids to play at the same time. Here are a few I like:

Pottery Barn - very expensive but gorgeous: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/w5420/index.cfm?pkey=xsrd0m1%7C12%7C%7C%7C1%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7Ckitchen&cm%5Fsrc=SCH

    Guidecraft - preschool quality stand-alone pieces: http://www.playkitchens.com/play-kitchens/refrigerators/colorbrightrefrigerator.cfm

We went with the smaller version from Step 2. I am so glad I didnt spend a ton of money. Honestly, my kids didnt really care about it and I sold it at the last MoMs sale.

Our twins received the Step 2 Lifestyle Dream Kitchen for their second birthday. I wanted a larger kitchen so everyone would have a place to play. However, they still want to play with the same part of the kitchen . . . isn't this normal. Good luck making a decision.

I am actually considering the Step 2 Deluxe or the Step 2 Market Fresh. I really like the Deluxe because of all the storage and the dishwasher but the market fresh as it offers a little more. Oh what to do!

I was looking at getting the 50's Diner as well for the same reason. Twins are 3 and baby is 18 months... That way ALL of them can play together, seperate, whatever. I also have somewhat of a space constraint as I'm fitting a LOT of things into their playroom, so can't go with anything to big or to 'Grand' if you will.
