Do your kids still nap?

My daughters just turned two. Their cousin is a month younger and has already stopped napping. I think it has a lot to do with being the youngest of three and her mom has a hard time keeping her on a set schedule.

When did yours stop napping? Did they sleep longer at night, when they gave up naps?

My two gave up naps last week. I can't complain, they made it to 3 years and 4 months, so that's good. So far them not napping has not made their night time sleep longer, but that could still change (I hope) the only difference so far is that they go to sleep about 30 minutes earlier, but that's not much, IMO. :p

Mine still nap. 1-3 every day. We have had a few days where we tried to have them skip naps due to family activities, and it's been a NIGHTMARE. Cranky, miserable, over-tired children ... and it pretty much ruins the rest of the day. So we are certainly not ready yet!

Mine don't nap anymore and haven't for about six months. When they stopped taking naps I moved their bedtime up to 7pm and they sleep a solid 12 hours.

All of my kids quit right at the 2 year mark. It was either quit naps, or stay up until 10-11, and I would rather have a 7pm bedtime.

Mine still nap during the week and sometimes during the weekends depending on what we are doing. It is shorter usually 1.5-2 hours. They usually go to bed around 8:30, but that is for selfish reasons. I work FT so I like for them to have a little later bedtime so I can see them.

Mine still nap at 2.5 and are going strong. Every once in a while they fight naps, but that's pretty rare. They sleep from 7:30pm - 7am and nap from 12 - 2:30.

We're in transition but in no hurry to be done. They nap 3-4 days out of 7. On days they don't nap, they go to bed earlier so they'll get roughly the same amount of total sleep whether they nap or not. Many days, they're just too tired and cranky to try to make it another several hours and I'd rather have happy kids who are up a bit late (we're talking 7:30 vs. 9... not that big a deal to me

Same in our house, although my son usually naps on 1-2 days of the week.

I love my two napping. Please don't stop A&R.

They're of the 14 hours of total sleep a day. 7-7 and 1-3.

Mine still nap. I put them down every day for a nap. 1-2 times a week, DD will not sleep during that time. I let her stay in her bed/room for about an hour to see if she'll sleep. If she doesn't, I'll get her after an hour or when she starts to whine or fuss. They sleep about 12 hours total a day--about 10.5 at night and 1.5 for naps. I know DD could stop napping and go to an earlier bedtime, but DS needs the nap and I want to keep them on the same schedule with the same bedtime, etc.

My boys still take about a 1.5 to 2 hour nap every day. However, baby girl has been a one nap baby for a loooooong time...fortunately, her naps coinside with the boys' nap so I get about 1.5 of quiet time during the weekends after lunch time.

My oldest DD stopped napping about 3.5 years old. I had to stop DD's nap at 3y4m because she was not falling asleep at night until 10pm or so if she napped (even though she would nap very easily and still needed one) and DS just stopped napping about a month ago.

Mine still nap every day at 4 yrs 1 mo. Thank God! I thought they were going to give them up several months ago, but I tweaked their schedule and now we are back to napping every day. I dread the day they stop.

Still napping here! Just this weekend, we were out and about and the twins slept for about 30 minutes in the car. DD did OK with it, but DS was a nightmare! That told us that he definately still needs a nap.

Naps keep me sane! I hope we will keep it up for a while yet!!

Mine nap for 60-90 minutes most days. Sometimes less, rarely more. 7-7 at night time.

my naps flew out the window 2 months ago when we took pacifiers away. they still nap sporadically, but then bedtime is a mess and they won't go down till 9 or 10 pm so i sometimes prefer crankiness in the afternoon and bedtime between 7 and 8. they wake up at 6:30-7 am regardless which is not enough sleep IMO but like i said bedtime is a nightmare when they do nap so IDK what to do right now....but i digress :)

My twins napped until about 2 1/2 and Liam is starting to give up naps now. I would much rather have them in bed earlier than to have them nap during the day. When the bedtimes started getting pushed later and later due to napping (9, 10), I stopped forcing naps. I'm thinking Liam's no napping has come right on the heels of him giving up the bink.
