I taught the boys to build houses of cards yesterday. I told them it was OK to be disappointed when the house falls but that it's part of the game and when it happens, you just start again. I warned them that if they cried about it, I'd know they were tired of playing and we would put the cards away. I wasn't sure they could do it, really, and wouldn't have thought of teaching them such at thing at their age. BUT, they saw it somewhere and asked me to show them how to build a house with cards and I couldn't think of any reason not to other than the potential for fit throwing. And now they're constructing like madmen.

I took them over to the grandparents' place yesterday for vacation pet & plant care and they constructed a card house together in the middle of the living room floor with an oversized deck of cards (5"x7") so Grandpa & Grandma will have a big surprise when they get home. :rotflmbo: Unfortunately, I didn't know those cards were there until the kids found them in the games cabinet so no photos of that masterpiece, I'm afraid.
