I always call Austin and Miles "Turkey". Austin is Ozzy B, and Miles is Mr. Miles. Both my husband and I continually spell their names out to them, and we call them "chicken" or "puppy" or "little potato pancake" (the last one came from a nurse in the hospital). They're going to be so confused about what they're actually called.

What do you call your kids besides their real name?

Our boys are pumpkins. sometimes monkies. when they were bitty and had colic (and were always swaddled, and would grunt and writhe) they were wiggleworms. Nothing too creative, here.

We call our Olivia "Livi Bean" and Ava "Ava Gator!" A few months ago my hubby and I realized that we call them by their nicknames almost more than their real names! So lately we've made an effort to call them by name more often! :D

We call them by their names more often than their nicknames (to my surprise!) but their nicknames from the hubby and I are Booger Bear. No clue.

hahahahahahahaaa!! Ok, that made me snarf my water. LOL!!!! Your husband is hilarious. :D

Brandon is Buddyboo or Mister Man.. Katelyn is Katiebug or just Bug. :)

They respond to their nicknames more so than their own name, so we've been trying to consciously use their real names more often. LOL!

I'm stuck with Pumpkin, I think my mom must have called me that! We also use Cutie Patootie, Super Sam, Samwise, Sam the Man, Sam Sammy Sam Sam, Amazing Alex, Alexander the Great, Piranha Boy (Alex leads with his mouth, which is full of teeth), Mamma's Boy, Big Boy, Sillyhead, Grumpy Gus, Sweetie, Sweetcakes. Nothing really original. :)

Johnny is my buddy, my little monkey, bighead(not really a nickname-more commentary while I talk babytalk all day),mamas boy.

In the mornings when I greet them I usually say I see a peanut and a potato (Zoe, my baldy). Throughout the day, if not their first and middle names together (Zoe Ella and Jude Isabella...it unintentionally rhymes) I call Zoe...Zoe Bean...Zoe Bear...and Jude I find myself saying Jude Tude (for her fiery personality) or monkey because she kicks all the time no matter what she is doing.

oh yeah, once in a great while when i need to change their diaper I call out poopbaby because when my 3 year old niece met them she started calling them the poopbabies...she is fascinated with that subject right now...who knows. :)

    This is SOOOOOO much FUN!!!!!!!

My 3 yr old DD, Isabel - we called her Isabelly and Belly-Welly (which one of her little friends stills calls her, not sure he knows her real name :) ). Somehow she also got Smelly-pants which turned into her aunt, my sister, calling her Smelly - of course now she is old enough that her firends are asking "why do they call you "Smelly"? We also call her monkey and Boo.

Now the girls...It is so funny that you posted this b/c I was just thinking yesterday that if I keep calling them these names they won't know what their real names are. But we call Abby - Abby-Dabby, Abby-doll, monkey, buga-buga (we were watching Dora and somehow it stuck) and b/c she is the biggest and eats the most "Chubs" - obviously we need to stop that one before she gets a complex. Hannah we call Hanny, monkey, Hannah-Banana, Hanny-Banany, Banany and buga-buga (again we were watching Dora and somehow it stuck).

Now my nanny - when she is taking the girls for a walk or just talking to them both at the same time will say "little ladies" - which makes me laugh everytime b/c it reminds that I have ALL girls. :D

Thanks for the FUN thread to help lighten up the dreary days of new mothermood with TWINS!!! :D

my girls have lots of names...I wonder in they know what their real names are?

Let's see, I have Tinker..short for Tinkerbelle because she's always on the go kind of like she's flying everywhere. Then I have Pebbles, we can get all of her hair into one pigtail. But the one that I am trying to break everyone of is "the big one and the little one"

Ella- who was (key word) the smallest twin we call "Pig" - I know it's not nice and we are trying to break the nickname-but it's so true! She loves boob and would nurse 23 hours a day if possible! When angry because it's not time to eat- we refer to her a "Angry Eater"

Allie- who is a projectile spit-upper we call "Urper" since she burps and urps up on EVERYTHING!

-Well I hear Pig and Urper are now up from their nap-:)

Baxter: My boy (who has a BIG head from his dad) is Baxter Bear. I nicknamed my boy before he came out and who would have known he was going to be such a big boy so being nicknamed a bear completely fits. I also like to use his middle name with his first: Baxter Jack! He has a name that warrents an adventure TV show. So I joke around about how he is on an adventure.

Zoe: My little girl is Zo Zo with a long O sound or Zoe. I do use girly a lot. I know she is going to be confused for awhile. I try to just use her name but girly comes out too easily.

When they were in the womb, we had an early ultrasound where one baby looked like a "guy on a motorcycle" and the other one looked like a "seahorse" so that's what we called them sometimes when I was pregnant.
When they were first born we called Sarah, "Baby Bird" because that's exactly what she looked like and she used to open and close her mouth like she was looking for food. We called Rachael, "Turtle" because she would stick her neck out and look around with these big eyes. Now we just call the Sarah and Rachael (or Rach) but sometimes I refer to them as the "babes". Like I'll say, "Gotta go home and feed the babes!" I rarely refer to them as "the twins."

    What a great thread!!

When the boys were tiny..we called Ryan: squatting gas bag and Christopher: lying with a pukey face (we were watching dances with wolves and felt since they were part native american, they should have names haha)

Now we call Ryan: (he's always been all over the place!!) Rug monkey, spider monkey, rug bug
Christopher: scooter, topher, fussyfer, pissfer (on those kind of days), mister man, too cute for moot (no idea).

And I wonder if they will know their nicknames better than their real names! haha

Ian is pretty much just Big Man, Big Guy or his first and middle name, Ian Matthew...

I'm loving this thread. And I had no idea so many people called their babies "monkey", LOL. Maybe after ours start crawling everywhere we'll do the same :)

We call Brandon Mr. B and Little Fester (because of his round bald head and double chin, lol).

We call Colin Mr. C and Snurgles, because of the "snurgle" noises he makes all of the time (cross between a snort and a gurgle).

And we interchangeably call them Stinky Pooh, Pootie, Pootems, Sweet Pea, Sweet Cheeks, and Shoogies.
