doc said today one of my LO's head is very flat and he needs to spend more time on his belly.
we do tummy time and they still hate it. i try everything! put them in front of eacother, show them pics of books, lay them on my chest, dangle toys in their face!

anything im missing? i feel bad my LO's head is deformed looking!!

Maybe try it for shorter periods of time but more often? I don't know my kids always hated it too!

My boys aren't fond of tummy time either, and one of them has a bit of a flat spot. For that twin we always let him sleep on his tummy at night (which he loves). We use the Angelcare monitor though otherwise I wouldn't feel comfortable letting him sleep on his tummy. Also when he lays on his back on a pillow on the couch I always put him on the side of me where when he turns his head towards me its not on the flat spot.

when they are sleeping you can try to make sure that their heads are turned to the opposite side that is flat. I have to prop my boys to the LT because otherwise they always look to the right while they are sleeping. Best of luck

I have a kid in a helmet now because of positional plagiocephaly (flat head), but his was mostly caused by torticollis. When he was really little, his PT suggested rolling a receiving blanket under his armpits to prop his head up just a little; that seemed to help a bit. It's only now at 7 months that he actually likes being on his stomach and that's because he can roll and creep around. I also used to let him nap on his belly at 4 months and just kept a good eye on him.

at almost 5 mos is it 'too' late for him to have a round head?

Did your Dr. even mention a helmet? If you are really concerned ask for an appointment to see a Specialist about it. At 3 months old, I flipped my boys over so that they were sleeping on their bellies. It helped one, but I kinda wish I would have had the other one evaluated for a helmet. His head was always flat in the back from his place in the womb. I did have another child who pushed her ear forward with a flat spot behind it. Again I flipped her to her belly for sleeping, and put her in a saucer to keep her off her head during her awake times. I didn't even do belly time other than while she was sleeping. It took a few months but her ears realigned. I think that was from months 3-6 or so. None of my children were developmentally behind by not doing awhole bunch of belly time during the day. I rathered they be in the saucer until their heads rounded up. The boys were walking by 11 months.
