my kids are SO GASSY! they are constantly farting. is it normal to just be a gassy baby or is it their formula or something in their BM?
My boys have horrible gas too. We've changed to so many different formulas hoping it would help, but even the Gentlease formula made no difference with their gas. And I've been through about 6 or 7 bottles of simethicone drops, and those seem to be pretty useless with my guys too. I hate it when they get so gassy they cry Though I've had pretty good luck with Cocyntal vials when it comes to gas and tummy issues.
We used gas drops in every bottle. Also Gripe Water seemed to help my DS out as well. We changed formula from Similac Advance to Similac Sensitive. It seemed that as my twosome got older, the less gas troubled them.
I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't seem to bother them. If they are fussy with it, you could try the gas drops & see if that works.
My DD is horribly gassy (although it doesn't stick, thankfully). She's always been the gassier of the two, but it's gotten worse since she's been on solids. We've used the gas drops in the past, but I'm not convinced they help.
My babies were horribly gassy for a few weeks (I posted something about it, too) - at first, it didn't seem to bother them so I figured I'd just deal with stinky boys. But that started to change and they started to get a little constipated, though not bad. About a week ago, I started adding probiotics to their evening bottle and their gas has pretty much completely disappeared and their BMs are back to normal. I do a combination of BF and Formula (Enfamil Premium), though mostly BF. I think it was the probiotics that ended up doing the trick!
All of my children have been extreamly gassy and I have tried everything there is out there. If it isn't bothering them then don't worry but if it is then there is lots of things you can try. search colic on the forums to see what others have said. What finally worked for us in the end is probiotics as well. They are still a little gasy but it doesn't bother them and they are able to toot with no problem and the are much less stinky. Best of luck
I've been tempted to switch to Enfamil Premium and see how my boys do on that. I've also started adding some probitiocs to one bottle a day. But I thought Enfamil Premium already has probiotics in it. If so, are you adding additional probiotics on top of what is already in the formula? I've read reviews of Enfamil Premium and they've been very positive, plus I've got a ton of $5 off coupons for it too
