I need to get hats, gloves, and coats, and I don't want to pay more than $30 a kid. Any suggestions?

I've had trouble finding good hats and gloves before.

I haven't looked this year as I bought last year after season. But Old Navy has some good stuff usually and good prices.

I second Old Navy. I was fortunate to receive hand me down winter coats for the kids this year. You might also want to check children's clothing sales too...you might find some gently used stuff.

I got Max & Lily's winter coats with hoods at jcpenney.com a few weeks ago for $35 each with free shipping. Lily's coat came with gloves. I got gloves for Max's coat for $3.50 at the childrensplace.com this week on sale. I bought 24 month size and when I tried them on they were perfect, just roomy with enough grow room. The funny thing is Lily threw a tantrum when we tried to take her coat off and it was about 80 degrees they day the coats arrived.

i got those big fluffy ski-like vests from old navy for like $20 each, but we still need to end up getting something with sleeves.

$30 total for hat, gloves, and coat per kid? I'd say Target. They have nice fleece hat/glove combos in generic solid colors and probably have cheaper coats. We hit a really good sale at LLBean for coats and got their coats for like $30 each and snow bibs for $20 each. Carters also had cute hats, gloves, and coats, but I didn't check the prices since we had already bought.

Last year, we found good coats at Kohls too.

I bought coats at the end of last season from Children's Place so they were on clearance and therefore really reduced in price. Their hats and mittens from last winter still fit them now so we are planning on having them wear them until they grow out of them. My DH also bought them winter hats from Cabela's when he was there a few weeks ago. Their stuff is usually high quality and reasonable priced. I know they aren't an option for everyone because they have so few stores, but you can always check their website.

I got everything from children consignment sales this year but otherwise most stores are just done with the Fall sales and putting up the Winter stuff now, so I'd just have a look around.

I still need mittens, although mine HATE them.

I just ordered coats from The Gap online - right now thru tomorrow everything is 25% off so I got $50 coats for $37 and used my Gap card and got free shipping. I also ordered so fall corduroy coats and hats from Old Navy.

I bought some hats from the children's place last weekend. They weren't very expensive and they were having a sale. I also bought some light jackets from Kohl's for like $10 each on sale. (They are just cotton hoodie jackets, nothing very thick.) I'm yet to buy heavy coats because we won't need them soon so I'm still shopping around.
