    Hi All

I am expecting twin in Jan plus I have a little boy who just turned two. I am looking at strollers and trying to figure out the best way to get around with three little ones when I am by myself. Anyone else in the same situation and have suggestions? I was thinking about a double stoller...put my two yr old and one of the twins in the stroller then put the other twin in my baby carrier. A triple stroller just seems to be too much.

Thank you in advance for your help!

First of all, congrats on your twins and welcome to TS! :D

If I was you (and I was you last year ;) ), it's time to teach your 2 yr old how to walk with you holding your hand :) My dd was 2.5 when my twins were born and we taught her to either hold our hand, hold the side of a stroller or the side of the shopping cart when we go out places. You can use one of the backpack/leashes if you have a runner also. I loved (and a lot of twins mommies loved) the double snap n go for the infant carseats in the beginning, which allows you to leave the babies in their carseats when you go out places, especially being born in winter it's so easy to wrap a blanket around/overtop of them to keep them warm. I don't think putting a newborn into a baby carrier in winter will be easy, but I could be wrong, I could never get the carrier's to work for me ;) If you do decide to get a regular tandem stroller that your 2 yr old can sit in as well, keep in mind they are usually much larger to load in/out of vehicle's.

I wouldn't recommend a triple stroller because odds are your 2 yr old isn't going to want to sit in a stroller for much longer, and then you are either stuck with the triple or have to buy a new double. And I'm sure you know strollers aren't cheap :)

I had a Mountain Buggy with a Lascal kiddieboard on which my 2 yo (she was 2 1/2 when they were born) would stand while the twins were sitting. My oldest is a great walker anyway (started "practicing" as soon as I found out I was having twins.

I bought the valco twin trimode with the toddler jump seat.

so far I really love it, both sides fully recline so my 3 weekers can lay swaddled inside and I have the jump seat up front which my almost 2 y.o. is loving. It is a queens seat for certain and she just loves it. The nice thing is once she is no longer interested I can get rid of the jump seat and just have the double. I like to go for really long stroller rides where I may walk several miles and at some point although DD often likes to walk rather than ride, she does tire and it is nice to have something she can sit in that has safety straps. I bought a floor model and got $200 off, but it is still a pricey way to go and it is a HUGE stroller! We call it the 'hummer of strollers' b/c sometimes it feels obnoxiously big, but that is b/c we are used to our single BOB (which I loved and it was hard to make this decision over the double bob!) We also have the snap & go which works great for quicker trips like to a store or a mall where DD can just walk and hold hands, etc.

This is what I was going to suggest too. I'd get your 2yr old used to walking nicely with you and then get a double stroller and a buggy board. That way you have the option of carrying one twin in a sling and having the other twin and your toddler in the stroller or of having both twins in the stroller and your son walking and riding on the board if he gets tired.

I have/had the Valco Twin Trimode with toddler attachment. Total lifesaver and I love my Valco. We no longer use the attachment, but it sure made my life a whole lot easier when it came to getting out with 3 small kids. I knew that Leah wouldnt stay with the stroller and I would be chasing her all over the mall. So the "triple" stroller was our best option.

VALCO VALCO VALCO!!! I adored that stoller!! We used it until right before Aaron turned 4 and the twins turned 3. Yes it is big but it pushes and turns beautifully even with 100lbs of kid in it. I swear, it was the best money we have ever spent on things for the kids.

Valco all the way! - Our boy was 21mths when our twin girls arrived. We did valco twin trimode with the toddler jump seat - it is so easy to push around, and my son loves sitting up high in the 'captain's chair'. I actually find this stroller easier to push than our single Bugaboo -

Thanks - sounds like Valco is something we need to look into, but I have a follow-up question. Those of you that used the Valco did you use it for the twins when they were newborns? I was hoping to find a stroller that I could snap the car seats into so if the twins were sleeping I would not wake them. Does the Valco have that option? And if it does - then does the "captain chair" for my 2 yrs old still work?

    Thanks again!

I did not use it when they were newborns. We didnt get it until they were about 5 months old because I didnt think I needed a "triple." If I knew they would fall asleep in their car seats I took the Duoglider with me. If we were going to be out for the day and I needed a nice stroller, I took the Valco.

Are you referring to the Graco DuoGlider? If so, which one do you have?

We had something like this. I really liked having the Duoglider so that I could just keep them in their carseats when they were sleeping. Then when they were awake more and outgrowing their infant seats we started using the Valco more and more. We still use it ALOT.

PM me if I can help you in anyway.
