So I started having some back pain last night while watching t.v. in bed and it seems to have continued on to this morning. I am semi-concerned about it as it came somewhat out of nowhere, and hasn't subsided, but I thought I'd as you ladies about it.

In my books it says that back pain that could be associated with PTL will be a dull ache low down in your back, below your waist. This pain is definitely an ache and sometimes comes and goes in sort of "waves" but it's definitely in my middle and almost upper back...not lower around my tailbone at all.

Do you ladies think that this is anything to be worried about? I'm not having any more BH than usual or any other signs that I know of. Maybe this is just the pregnancy REALLY taking its toll on my back finally! My next OB appt is in a week today, but I'm wondering if I should call or go in today before the weekend.

When I was pregnant, I had back pain but it was in my lower back and it was sciatica. I would suggest if you are concerned, there is no harm in calling your OB to check up on it. Let us know how you make out and I hope it goes away soon

Sorry about the pain. If it were me, I'd call the doctor. It's better to be safe then sorry... and a week is far away. Good luck, I hope it's nothing.

Okay well despite feeling like I'm totally overreacting I put a call in to my OB's office, so I'm just waiting to hear back from his or his assistant on whether or not I should go into L&D and get it checked out. In the meantime keeping my feet up and drinking tons of water!

Well my OB says it sounds pretty normal for this point in the pregnancy and not to worry about it unless it is accompanied by menstrual type cramps and that if that happens that i should go straight to L&D. I hate it when they just say "don't worry about it" but at least he knows about it and if it continues all weekend I may just go to L&D anyways :p
