Do you let your LO's carry around a sippie?

Just curious as to if you let your LO's carry around a sippie cup? If not do you bring one out and offer it like every hour or something?
Today I gave dd a sippie...just with water in it and she was infatuated (sp?) with it, they both liked it. I only filled it half way but all the water was gone within like 5 mins. Maybe its just a phase but I was thinking of brining one out every hour maybe even with milk in it to help them get enough milk for the day...then I dont have to feel like I stress and try to force milk at meals and snack time-to make sure they get enough milk for the day.

I offer mine three sippies with six ounces of milk in them throughout the day...one in the morning, one midday and one late afternoon/early evening. I then offer them sippies with water inbetween. Mine don't care to carry them around that much but if they have milk left from the morning or early afternoon (it's been refrigerated of course!) I'll offer those sippies first and then water. But no juice for my kiddos!

i keep 2 of them out at all times, filled with either water, or half water/half juice. they love to just pick one up, take a few sips, and then THROW it back down... lol, often hitting their own toes. i wonder when they'll pick up that that's not such a smart idea!

Their sippy cups are out during the day but it's filled with water. Milk is offered in the morning and at night and if it's a slow milk drinking day, I'll give it to them at meal time too. :good:

We leave ours out throughout the day too. Just water. They get milk with every meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Exactly what I do as well- they drink more some days than others but like to have water available if they want it.

Milk only during meals and in their chairs. I've learned the hard way with milk because they would fill up their mouths with it and let it fall down their shirts and on the floor, carpet & couch. There is nothing like the smell of sour milk. :bad:

I only let them drink sippies in the basement which is their play area or when we are out and they are in their stroller. I only use the straw type cups and they like to shake them up and water will go everywhere.

We do milk twice a day in sippies. Most of the time they finish the morning one but they don't normally finish the evening one. I don't offer it again at dinner because they won't drink it. We give water at snack and every meal. They don't normally carry a sippy around.

We have sippies of water out all day that they can carry around if they want. We use the straw sippies for water, and the others for milk. They only get milk sippies at meal time.

i leave water sippies out for them all day. if they empty one, i refill it.

they get sippies of milk offered with each meal/snack. sometimes they'll finish off 8 oz over the course of the day, sometimes less (i'm still nursing 2x/day as well). DH thinks we should leave the milk sippies out all day but a) it's really messy (like a PP, my girls like to store a big mouth full & then let it dribble out) & b) i wouldn't want to drink milk that had been left out all day! :bad: so i told DH he was wrong. ;)

My boys have access to their cups all day and I keep water in them at home. Since they can have them whenever they want throughout the day I find that they don't really carry them around. We are working on keeping them on the table but right now they usually end up on the floor.
They get milk with breakfast and dinner. At daycare they get juice with lunch, but at home they get water with lunch.

I leave them out if it's just juice/water, but if it's milk I let them drink but don't let them leave it out longer than 15 mins.

I only ever let them walk around with a sippy of water. Anything else in the sippy had to be at the table.
