I THOUGHT they were twins, I must be mistaken.

I was in Walmart with my girls and as I was checking out Aviva was a little more than fussy. Here is how the conversation went.

    Cashier. " Are they twins?"

    Me. "Yes, they are."

Cahier. "But that one isn't crying."

Me. "Uh, right, but just because they are twins does not mean that they always cry at the same time."

Cashier. "But they don't look anything alike."

Me. "Nope, you're right again, they DON'T look anything alike but I'm telling you, they're twins."

Cashier. "Oh....you know why they're twins? Because they are the same size."

Me. "Ahhhh. yep, that's why they're twins."

This happened yesterday and I am STILL baffled.
In the beginning when the girls were babies and people said really stupid stuff it used to bother me and I felt like I had to convince people they really were twins. (I love the old ladies that INSIST they are NOT twins)
Now, I just laugh at their ignorance.

I guess my girls aren't twins because Kayla is about 2 inches taller than Emma! LOL

Yeah, it really is amazing what goes on in some people's heads. When the girls were about 3 months old we were shopping and one was asleep and an older gentleman stopped us to look at the girls. He asked if they were twins, I replied yes and he said "Well, they can't possibly be twins cause one is asleep and one is awake!" I said, "Oh, yes you are right, I was just trying to fool you."

Oh my! The crazy things people say! My favorite latley is when people TRY to seem as if they know what they are talking about. "so are they fraternal or idetical?" Or the other day outside the doctors office some guy (in the parking lot!) goes "hey, I have a question for you...when you have twins how do you tell them apart?" Ummmm...they are FRATERNAL so they don't look alike. The guy looked sooo confused! [IMG]
People are so weird. To me it seems like there are more twins around then I ever thought, but some people act like they have never seen them and they are super stars?
I did meet an old OLD lady today who saw the boys and said she has twins! They are 60 years old though! I thought that was very cool! I'v never felt so connected to someone that age before. [IMG]

A man asked me the other day if they were both my daughters (I guess thinking one might be my niece or something) But hello? They are identical. I really wanted to respond, no just this one, but then we saw this other girl that looked so much like her, we just had to take her home.

I love the elderly who have their own twins! They are so sweet and usually nostalgic. We always get they can't be twins that one must be a year os so older (jazz being so much bigger than Jess). When they were little I had a lady ask if the were Id I told her nope we liked the first one so much we had her cloned

So odd, someone asked me again the other day if mine were identical. When i said no they are b/g twins, they said yeah they look nothing alike.

    Thats too funny!

I have been told mine aren't "real" twins because they are boy/girl. And another just said "oh so they aren't twins then right, since they are b/g"...duh...

Mine are about exact same height/weight and I still get amazed that people are so surprised to see they are twins. Both even have blonde hair/blue eyes. I don't get why it shocks people so much.
