So when can you get through a day...

Or are my kids just clumsy? Someone is always falling off a chair, falling in the hall, walking into a corner, and if we're outside, of course there are more chances to hurt yourself! What the heck?

 

Ummm, I can't make it through a day without hurting myself.

I was looking at Royce earlier today and noticed that he had a serious black eye. And then later it was gone. Must have been a shadow.

Seriously, we have some sort of minor injury almost every day. Either someone scratched, hit, pulled, pushed, twisted, sat on, threw at, looked at someone or they just cause themselves injury. Like yesterday, they all put on their winter hats to go sledding (no, my children are not strange ) and Liam pulled his down over his eyes and started spinning. Despite my efforts to stop him (it was in our hilly back yard and near the cement walkway), he spun himself over and has a lovely scrape on his forehead. Then he got up and did it again.

 

I've been wondering this too. My kids are *constantly* hurting themselves, especially my son. Sigh.

 

When you figure it out, let me know! (my oldest is 12!)

 

Still happens here too. Fortunately a lot of it happens at daycare, so although I see the bruises and scrapes afterward, the kids no longer care by that point.

The worst is when they're having a fit, and just starting to calm down, and then they hurt themselves. Sarah fell off a stool in the kitchen yesterday morning, when she had just finished wailing for 20 minutes and was finally about to go eat breakfast. I know this is unfair, but sometimes I can't help feeling that they do it on purpose because it allows them to continue screaming.

 

Jackson is covered in bruises - he's my rough and tumble, fearless child. Jacob gets hurt probably twice per week, Jackson gets hurt about 5 times per day. And me? I lost count. :lol:

I figure it must get better eventually!!

 

same thing here. i should invest in band aid stock.

 

Still going on here too! My dd is the one that gets hurt the most. We go through alot of bandaids. :wacko:

 

OMG, yes! I've wondered that too. Sometimes one of them will bonk their head on the headboard after we've been having a lot of bedtime shenanigans, just as they are starting to quiet down. Then of course it's 10 more minutes of attention with the requisite ice pack and kiss and all that stuff.

 

One night, I had just walked away from the room a few minutes earlier when I heard a slight thump and Amy started wailing, but in that very deliberate, fake way. I stuck my head in and asked what was wrong, and she said "I bumped my head!" I said, "Did you do it on purpose so I would come back in?" and she said, "Yes." She didn't even look sheepish.

I gave her a quick hug and kiss, but said if she bumped her head on purpose again, too bad. (I'm thinking of introducing the phrase "tough doogies" into our household...)
