The boys are 7mos old now and my hair has been falling out since they were 4mos - does it ever stop? I am so tired of cleaning out a hair ball the size of a small dog from the shower every morning not to mention all the stray hairs we find all over the boys . ugh....its getting sooo old!!

I don't know if it's b/c of the girls but I lose hair all the time too. Once every 4 - 6 months DH has to clean out the drain in my bathroom b/c it gets clogged with my hair. I still have plenty on my head though so I didn't really think it was a problem.

Is your hair long? I know with longer hair it tends to fall out more. It always happens to me. It was much worse when I was pregnant and about 3 months afterward.

To much though could be a thyroid problem. Common around pregnancy. If it's a lot or worrying you, you could call your dr. A simple blood test would tell.

my hair is still falling out... [IMG] it seemed like it was getting really bad for a while and then i realized that my hair was down to the middle of my back, so even one piece of hair looked like a lot. i got it cut a couple weeks ago and now it seems like it is a more normal amount that i am loosing. but i still find hairs everywhere. DD like to crawl around on the floor and pick them up and put them in her mouth.. gross...

i go for my annual next month and i think i will have my doc do a thyroid test just to rule it out.. thanks for the suggestion sevnheads![IMG]

I have chin length hair so its not the length thats the problem - I remember it falling out a lot after my daughter but only for a month - this time it just seems like it will never stop. Interesting idea on the thyroid...

Mine started falling out at the end of my pregnancy. It was my thyroid. It is really only supposed to come out after pregnancy for a few months. I would get a blood workup done just in case. If there is a problem with it, simple medication helps and you should feel less tired and your metabolism should start working better.

It is completely normal to lose hair after a pregnancy. You don't shed much hair at all while you are pregnant (which is why so many women have such nice, thick hair when they are pregnant) & your hair will adjust back to normal afterwards. Which means, you lose a LOT of hair. Mine started a couple of months after delivery and lasted almost the whole first year.
