Oh no! It's so hard when they are that little and sick. Especially when momma is sick too. I hope you all feel better soon. Keep an eye on wet diapers.

becky it's funny you should say that! one of the boys did not have a wet diaper from 3 am to 10 am. i changed him this morning and his diaper was still dry.

Be sure to mention it to the ped. The little ones can get dehydrated so fast.

what do you think she'll do at the doc for them? i BF them this morning and i think i want to give them a bottle later so that i know how much they're getting. even their morning feeding seemed quick.

They most likely have a virus, so there isn't much they can do for them. You definitely want to push the fluids. Small amounts more frequently. When they are really congested, they just don't want to drink, so smaller amounts more often tends to work better at keeping them more hydrated. I would keep bf'ing them, just maybe a little more often than normal. I would also do saline drops in their noses, wait a few minutes, suck it out, and then feed.

What she said!!! frequent smaller feedings to keep them hydrated. I don't know if it's appropriate at 3 months (you can ask the pediatrician) but you might also try giving them a little pedialyte to help keep them hydrated.

Oh for sure. If the formula is causing their congestion to be worse(milk does that), and it is seriously hindering their drinking, I would definitely go for the Pedialyte. Hydration is more important than calories when they are sick.

Let us know what the ped says.

ok! pedi said that it sounded upper respiratory. gave them albuterol/vistaril and said to give them this mixture until their symptoms go away.

he also said if i give formula to dilute it with water (50/50.) we give them soy, too
