When does your lap get officially "too small?"

My boys just turned 3 and I can hardly hold both of them on my lap. It's sad that they are getting so big, so fast. I love to hold both of them at the same time, it's just one of my favorite things about being a twin mom! I used to LOVE it when they were in the first year and would snuggle up with me in the recliner and I still do but it gets harder as they get bigger. Also when they are both upset about something and they both want you to hold them! Just wanted to share a little sadness I'm experiencing since my preemies are over 30 lbs now....:(

Thanks for the hugs ladies! It seems like we wait so long for milestones to hurry and get here but when they do, you wish you could go back and enjoy it a little more than you did! OMG, I'm way too emotional right now but it's the truth! I LOVE TS!

It never happens. If, by chance, they can't sit ON your lap they can cuddle really close in next to you and then progressively you can sit on THEIR laps.

Exactly! We know do bedtime stories on the couch or in my bed so they can both snuggle in.

Oh, I know the feeling! And sometimes they don't even want to sit on my lap individually (even DD, who is the biggest mommy's girl ever). But we have a chair-and-a-half, and they love cuddling in next to me on that, one on each side - they're squeezed between me and the sides of the chair.

Ain't that the truth! I have a hard time remembering to savor the moments, and they grow so quickly. [IMG]

My lap is definitely overflowing these days but we still make it work! If it's just the twins, one sits on each leg. But if Aaron wants in on the action (more often than not) I sit sideways on the couch, on the floor or on the bed with my legs in a V with one kid on each leg and one in the middle. It's not perfect, but everybody gets hugs! I agree that they grow too fast!
