My girls LOVE Woody and Buzz from toy story they love both movies and when part 3 comes out in summer of 2010 we plan on taking them to see it for their first movie. They will be almost 3yrs. MY question is would you dress your girls in boy costumes or boys in girl costumes? My girls would love to be Buzz & Woody:)

I absolutely would. I hate this whole idea that boys can only wear boy things and girls can only wear girl things.

They will be assumed to be boys at nearly every house they go to, but who cares? One of my DDs is always assumed to be a boy anyway, because she has short hair.

Ditto this. If it will make them happy then why not? If they love the costumes they will probably wear them for normal dressing up too so you will get good use out of them.

The more I think about it I just might let them be Woody & Buzz. Cuz their going to have plenty of years to be girlie and plus I was thinking of Tigger and Pooh and we all know that their boys but its okay for girl babies to be them.

Did you see the really cute jessie costume that the disney store had?

Yes I did and I thought about Jesse and buzz cuz my DD Reese loves Buzz and my DD Rylee probably wouldn't care much but then people would think they are b/g twins. I might go that way anyways. I guess I will decide labor day weekend that's when I plan on getting them. Thanks to everyone who responded. I really thought that most would say no for girls to dress in boy costumes but I am willing to bet no one will let their sons wear a barbie or any other "girlie" Costume:) Am I right????

It's not necessarily me that wouldn't let my son at that age..but my DH would have had a cow..so I have to say that it would have been WW III in my house if my son wanted to dress as a girl character...luckily he never did.
