We started at 4 months with a spoon and to be honest, there wasn't much point. We didn't really start trying to make solids an every day thing until 5 months when they could actually take food off the spoon and knew what was going on. When they learned to sit up (5 1/2 - 6 months) I started to introduce stage 1 foods. GL!

We put it in bottles for reflux starting at 2 weeks. I started spoon-feeding them solids at 4 months.

At our pedi's recommendation, we started cereal at 4 months. It took them a couple of days to get the concept but they did get it eventually.

I start when the babies show me they are developmentally ready for it. Anywhere between 4-5 months for mine.

We started at 4 months, but only because they were already getting cereal in their bottles for reflux. We didnt do it everyday either. They werent really consistent with the spoon until about 5.5 months.

how do you add the cereal on the bottle? do you use a stage 1 nipple? just wondering how the cereal comes out of the nipple
what cereal do you guys use?

For reflux you start with a tsp of cereal to an ounce of formula. You add more if your baby needs it. It's not advised to add cereal to your baby's bottle unless their is a medical reason. They make nipples especially for adding cereal but it can be too fast. Often going up a nipple stage is enough. It's really trial and error. It's best to use a cereal without milk or soy in it. Beechnut brand is the one that is recommended. Gerber has milk and soy which is not tolerated in some babies. Often people use rice cereal but you can do oatmeal instead. The rice sometimes constipates babies whereas the oatmeal does not.
