When would you stop bathing boys & girls together? I am just curious. I know it varies from parent to parent as far as comfort level, but just wanted to know what age you thought the bathing together should end.

Tonight while bathing, ours were touching each other. I know it is just curiosity and I wasn't sure if I should say something or not. I did end up just telling them (nonchalantly) that we needed to keep our hands to ourselves.

What do you think? Would you wait until they started asking questions or even wait until one of them asks to be bathed seperately?

Mine still do often and it is not a big deal. When they want to bath by themselves, we will.

I would have just done the same thing as you about touching.

When we are pressed for time I bathe the twins and my five year old all together. They went through phases of touching and like you I just told them to keep their hands to themselves and distracted them with something else.

Same here. I figure they'll say something when they'd rather not take a bath together :)

My friend said that your pedi will tell you when to stop. Weird huh?

we still do it - DD goes through phases of being interested in her brothers winky but we just combat that by telling her to keep her hands off...although she'd now rather take a shower with me at times - so I'm waiting for the pubic hair questions - she's already declared that I have boobs because I'm "old" LOL

Yep! I have never even considered bathing them separately. I hate sitting through bath time and wouldn't want to do it twice! I'm hoping they will wait until they are old enough that I don't need to be in there with them. Hmmm..I have no idea when that will be. I think I'll start a spin-off!

When it comes to this kind of stuff, I'm not sure why people think a doctor would be better able to answer this question than the parents. The parents are the ones who watch their kids interact and would know if a problem started to arise or if one kid became uncomfortable. I honesty think some parents just expect their pedi to tell them how to raise their kids. I trust my pedi for medical advice, but when it comes to raising my kids, I know them better than anyone else!

My son takes showers with my dh every now and then and the always points to the pubic hair and says yucky. My dh always says that he won't shower with him anymore because of that but when my son asks he always does.

My girls takes showers with my son and they are almost 7. They see it as no big deal and when they don't want to anymore then they will take them seperately. They no longer take baths together because our tub isn't big enough (my son will still try to get in it though). My son will get in the shower/.tub with anyone since he loves to take baths and showers. We do make sure though everyone keeps their hands to theirselves and if they don't listen they get out of the tub and bath time is over.

    Ped?

I honestly don't know why anyone asks a doctor about these types of things. I never ask ours anything unless it is specifically health related. I know my children much better than he ever will.

We still bathe the kids together a lot of the time. I have never really had any issues with them touching each other, but they did ask when they were younger why they were different. I am wondering how much longer they will go for the baths together, Nolan is starting to go off by himself to get changed for "privacy".

I almost always bathe/shower my younger 3(3,3,5) together.

Naomi and Luke still take baths together. I think they will probably run out of space before they become uncomfortable with bathing together.

We still do, I just tell them that they have different parts and not to touch the other person's because that's private. They do a good job! Not an issue!

Every time still. DD stares at DS's penis if he pees in the shower. It's actually kind of funny. I figure the more they learn about each other's parts at home, the less they'll be checking out the neighbor kids later.
