I know goats bleat, but what does it sound like when you make the sound for your kids? Is it the same sound as a sheep? This is a silly question, but it's been bugging me for a while. We have a book with both animals in it and I've been making the same sound for both. It seems like the sounds should be different.

I was wondering the same thing.....the books I have say the goat says Maaa and the sheep says Baaaaa so only the beginning sound changes but it sounds the same when I say it to the kids so I think it's confusing to them....not that they are repeating me anyway but still.....

    Maaaaaaahhh and Baaaaaaaahhh

I don't know how my two do it but they have different roars for dinsosaurs, lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my! Each roar is just a little bit different consistently.

That's how I make goat sounds to my kids and I just get  looks in return. I think in their book the only animals that make sounds are cats and dogs. Boy, are they going to be surprised one day.

Is there a petting zoo to take them to? And find out from the goat's mouth?

It's the eyes that freaked me out the first time I saw a goat up close.

I know my nephew loved feeding the different animals, although it cost me a lot of quarters.

Yeah, I do the Maaa for the goat and Baaa for the sheep.

The one that gets me is an elephant. I cannot do a decent elephant noise to save me, I just stick out my arm for a trunk and make a sound like a dying animal. My kids think I am nuts.

LOL! I'm still thinking about your dog sound thread. One of their books has "Arf! Arf! Well I had been using roof roof before. They are gonna be so confused.

We say maaaah. I agree with the elephant, I am not good at that. I say woof woof for a dog. They are training us well!!!
