I wish I could say it gets better, I am in the same situation with 20 1/2 mos olds. I remember the days at 6-8mos, when you could get them to laugh with just a smile, they are so much harder to keep happy these days. I am sorry, but know you are not alone!!!

Oh I think it will get better. Mine were very whiny from 14-16 months. Now at 19 months, they whine a lot less, they are getting better at communicating their needs and I think it helps. Have you tried teaching them sign language?

    Hi,
My boys are 17 months and when they were really whiny at 15 months I started really turning on the sign language. I started doing it more and more and they really caught on fast and they had a good time trying to do what I did.
I did start signing with them at 6 months and for months they didn't do anything. Now, they love it!
We just learned "bird" the other day. It really helped with the whining now that they can communicate with me in this way.
Be consistant and you all will have so much fun with signing.
    :)

Big  16 months is tough, I would say for us it started to ease up a bit once they hit 19 months, they still have their moments but not as much. I say, as tiring as it is, be consistent with your rules/TO's or whatever you use to enforce behavior.

It will get better. Exactly when? I am not sure but it does. For my two it was around 2 years of age. I hope it's sooner for your two.
