So I'm anxious for these babies to WALK aalready. They will be 15 months, 13 corrected. They are able to stand unassisted now and can take a dozen steps. How long after until yours took steps...did they walk? TIA!

If they are taking a dozen steps on their own, it sounds like they aren't too far from taking more and becoming more of walkers then crawlers. It's hard to wait but it will happen and then you will have to run even faster after them.

For my DD once she could take a few steps, she was off and walking (that was around 11 months) for my DS, it was a process. He could take a couple of steps at 12 months but it wasn't until 14 months that he could really walk...it was like once he realized he could do it, he shocked himself and then he finally believed he could do it. It sounds like yours will be walking soon!

DD started walking at 11 months -- she took a few steps and now she's running. It didn't take her long at all. DS -- he is just fine with crawling right now ;)

It was only a couple of weeks from when Jack started to take a few steps until he mostly gave up crawling. Now he's almost always upright, but he still walks like I've filled his sippy cup with rum. :p

My DS took his first steps on 4th of July & he was walking really well about a month later. DD has just taken her first steps this week & I'm just waiting on her to decide that walking is something she wants to do.

    Brooklyne,

I felt the same way 2 months ago when Hunter and Morgan would take a few steps and fall on their butt. But now at 14 months, they are everywhere. Don't worry too much about it - I know it's easier said than done - they will walk eventually. However, if it gets to about 16 - 17 months and they are not walking, ask your Pedi what they think. Some kids don't walk until about 18 months!!! I know we'd rather have them walking way sooner but once they start, there's no turning back. My babies still look like penguins when they walk and Hunter still trips over his size 5 feet but he walks all day long and now he's trying to run. Yikes!

With one of mine, she started walking pretty quickly after she figured out 5-7 steps. The other is still perfecting it. She mostly walks, but does go back to crawling sometimes. Sometimes, she walks on all fours, which is so funny.

Just wanted to update that they are fully walking for about 1.5 weeks! And here I thought it would take forever. Thanks for your support!
