My twosome like to read and we've been cycling through all of our books. I'm in the market for some new books for the kiddos and wonder if you all have any that you could recommend.

    My kiddos like:
    1. Maggie Can Count (AKA Mommy and Daddy are good a rote memorization)
    2. The Wheels on the Bus
    3. The Dumb Bunnies Easter (pretty cute and funny)
    4. Oakey books
    5. Wemberly Worried
6, Let's Eat (Cookie Monster makes a big meal)
    7. The Care Bears A Very Grumpy Thanksgiving.

    Thanks for your help!

My girls LOVE the Dr. Seuss Books (I have bought all the Board Book One's they make!), I love you Stinky Face, Fisher Price Little People Books, Curious George, and their Elmo book. We rotate through through those several times a day. They have more books than that, but these are the one's that they want to read over and over again.

Mine also like Dr. Seuss. Two of their favorites by Dr. Seuss are the ABC Book and Mr. Brown Can Moo.

    Charlie Chick
    Goodnight Moon
    Smile
    Peek-a-Boo Zoo
    10 Little Babies
    Old MacDonald
Get Up and Go Songs (with Elmo)
    Panda Hide and Seek
    Gallop

Plus, any musical book (the ones that have buttons to push that play songs), and "touch and feel" book, and any "lift the flap" book. Ours are really into books now, too. We love it!

    Mine love(d):
    Dear Zoo
    The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Anything by Sandra Boynton (my favourites are Hippos Go Berserk, The Going To Bed Book and Doggies, but I haven't read them all)
Julia Donaldson has some great books too, lots for slightly older kids but A Squash and A Squeeze, One Ted Falls Out of Bed and Monkey Puzzle are great for the younger ones.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, we had loads. I love kids who love books!

I second the Sandra Boynton recommendation. My kids loved Moo, Baa, Lalala and it's easy to memorize for mommy!

The Runaway Bunny is another good one, but it makes me cry.

Also, Goodnight Gorilla - silly book, but they loved it!

We have TONS of books but "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Dr Suess is one of our boys' favorites. I don't really get why... not one of my faves, but they love it.

    Other faves:
"I love you, Grandpa" by Jillian Harker
    "Brown Bear, Brown Bear"
    "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

I dont know which communities/states have it but we are enrolled in a FREE program called Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
See HERE if your community is one that is sponsored by the program.

We signed the kids up and they get a free book EVERY month from Birth to Age 5. I never have to pick out books anymore cause we get one in the mail monthly.

That's my least favorite one. I think it bothers me because part of it is written in rhyme and part of it isn't.

We like Llama Llama Red Pajama from the Imagination Library Books. I also like The Little Engine That Could because it reminds me of my Grandma. She used to read it to me when I was a kid.

My girls love all the books by Eric Carle - their favorite is "The Very Lonely Firefly" - they love the last page because it lights up.

Their absolute favorite book is the one we always read at bedtime - "The Moon in My Room"

Daddy likes Dr. Suess, so we have a ton and read them a lot.
Other hits with us: the Usborne "That's Not My _____" line of books - they are touchy feely board books that identify various textures, the Eric Carle books (they tend to have lots of animals, and the babies like to point and identify them and their sounds), the 5 Little Monkeys book, and we have a Baby Einstein collection of 26 letter books - each one is like 3 pages per letter. They love them, and they double as a toy (put the books in the box, take the books out of the box, put the books in the box....)

Edit: Another parent favorite - we just found the Little Golden Book called "The Monster at the End of this Book" with Grover. My mom used to read it to me. DH's mom used to read it to him. The babies were rapt the first time we read it to them. The Roly Poly Puppy is also a favorite - we have a board book edition that the babies "read."
