My lo's are finally teething! Who would have thought that babies who are opposite in EVERY way possible would cut the same tooth and the same time. :) Yay for this big milestone, not so yay for them because they're in pain and I'm still in my pjs and exhausted because I'm trying to console them all day.

My question is for DS who is having diarrhea. Is this common? He's having two-four looser bm's a day now and I'm wondering if I should continue to give solids or let his tummy rest and just up his bottles by an ounce until he's through the worst of it. Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

When any of my kids were teething, their stools got looser, not totally runny like and not necessarily more frequent, but just looser than normal for them. If that's the case, then I wouldn't be worried (I think it's from all the extra saliva and stuff...). My babies always ran a mild fever, got slightly congested, and had slight drops in appetite along with the teething too.

DITTO! Mine actually ate more solids during that time b/c sucking the bottle hurt their teeth. I would mix their formula into solids so they got extra calories.

I want to second this, my two go through the same thing with teething. With the extra poos my DD will also usually get a diaper rash. Congrats on the teeth for both of your little ones!

From what I have heard swallowing all the extra saliva can upset their stomach. I do not have much adivice since my one son who has teeth didn't go through it. you could always call your ped. Hope you get some much need rest :)

Another ditto! Snotty noses, diarrhea, crankiness, drop in feedings, and gnawing on hands are a sure sign more teeth are coming in our house:)

Ditto with everyone else - we used to joke that DD was "pooping" out her teeth - she'd get diarrhea and a horrible diaper rash!

Thanks ladies, I had heard/read that that was sometimes part of the teething deal but just wanted to hear it from some other mommies. So far there hasn't been any fever in either baby or drop in appetite so that's good. DS did have a diaper rash earlier this week but it's cleared up now. Maybe we'll get over the hump this weekend, at least they both slept through the night last night! Woo hoo! Thanks again.
