Colin is very mobile. He is ALL over his crib. For a few weeks now he gets his arms and legs stuck between the bars of the crib. He wakes up screaming (like he is in pain) and when I go in there sure enough he is stuck. All though Im not a fan of this, I wasn't so worried about it tell now. He is actually starting to get little burns and bruises on his legs! I have NO idea how to fix this one. This is the first time any of my babies has had this problem. Have you had this happen? How did you fix it?

    Thanks

We used crib bumpers. We just used the regular padded kind, but if those make you nervous, you could use the breathable ones.

Or is he getting stuck above the bumpers?

They have breathable ones? See, this is why I come here lol! Where do you find those? I do worry though that he would still just "push" through them. He is VERY wiggly and strong. I can put him in the living room and in a few minutes he is in the kitchen (still not crawling, just moving).

Crib bumpers should keep his legs and arms in.

I have the breathable mesh ones, they're great! BRU, amazon, most baby stores carry them

Do they hold still? Or do they slide around like the regular ones? Maybe it was just the ones I had, but they never stayed in place.

We use the regular bumpers and their limbs stay in. I haven't tried the breathable ones. Once DD took a nap without her bumpers and her arm got stuck, so I definitely like using bumpers.

I have always.used regular bumpers and just wedged them between the mattress and the crib. There are about 2 or 3 inches that hang out over the top. Bumpers make it hard to change the sheets no matter what so this is no different to me. Maybe you could do that if they make you uneasy?

We use the breatheable bumpers, but to take care of the difficulty changing sheets with them, we also use the "ultimate crib sheet" sold at BRU. It fastens to the side of the crib and is very taught/safe, but comes up really easily when it's time to clean the sheets.

Aw poor thing. Amber is a very active sleeper also. I wasn't sure what to do at first but after an arm getting stuck in the spokes at 3am one morning a had to get abit makeshift. I attached a bed sheet to each of the spokes.. so no arms or legs could get stuck. It is still attached now and we haven't had anymore incidents so i'm just going to leave it up, if it's broke don't fix it and all that. Fingers crossed she neevr bangs he head but if this becomes a problem will be investing in breathable bumpers.

This is what we have and they were/are a lifesaver. They also help prevent climbing out when they get older.

We used bumpers for that very reason! I did buy the breathable bumpers from Walmart, but I didn't really care for them and went back to the regular type.

I think a breathable bumper will help.

    Thanks all

So update- Last night I put on a bumper (think ill switch to the breathable ones though) on the crib. It did work. No getting stuck this morning and they even slept in a bit longer. Thanks

I would get the breathbale baby bumpers form the main website. You have to check out what type of crib you have because they have two different models depending upon the type of crib you want. For the full bumper which is what I have you have to have a crib just like in the picture, if not you can get the half type bumper that fits all cribs. I got the full one and of course I have one of the cribs that it doesn't work with so I had to sow on ribbon to attach it even though my crib looked very similar to the one in the picture, so save your reciept.

The breathable ones use heavy duty velcro and stay put relatively well.

We use sleepingbags for babies, called babysafe, with straps around the mattress(safe ones so they can't get strangled)...
