My two are on the verge of crawling and we don't have anything to keep them contained. LOL I'm interested in a free standing play yard. Something that can be moved to different rooms and doesn't cost $300, etc.

    Any ideas or recommendations?

That's what we've got. We currently have it as a wall, blocking off the exit from the family room where we normally hang out. The room isn't entirely baby proofed, but it hasn't been a problem so far.

I think if/when we need REAL containment, we'd need a 2nd superyard, with just one, set up in a closed circle, it's REALLY small, too small for an adult to get in and play with the babies.

I saved some coupons..and got 2 of the Sure and Secure Super Wide Custom Fit Gate- although it was expensive, I like it
because it has a door, so I can get in and out easily and so can the babies if I want them too. It is also big enoug for me to hang out and play and read with them in there.

I also love that I leave some of their toys in there and I don't have to constantly be picking up :clapping:

I often to put one baby in there at the time because they pull each other's hair to much...

We found two Superyard XT's on Craigslist for short money. We use them hooked together to make a really large enclosed circle to contain our DD's both inside and out. So far it's worked really well for us.

    Good luck :)

we used the superyard too. as a corcle for only a few months, maybe from 6-9 or 10 mos, basically as soon as they got good at crawling they wouldnt put up with such a small space anymore. then we babyproofed the hell out of our DR which is attached to our kitchen and blocked off the entry to the kitchen with the superyard, then they figured out how to move it and then we just gave up....but that superyard got us from 6 mos to about 15 mos.

Same here - one was a hand me down and the other a gift, but we used two together for a while. It was great! Once they start pulling up/cruising/climbing, though, it's a little wobbly IMO. Then we installed a metal gate and gave them a whole safe room (plus supervised run of the house)!
