    Hi to all
I am new to this forum, but have an important question. My hubby and I did IVF, two implanted and at 6 weeks, baby b we heard the heartbeat and saw baby a sac, baby b alittle bit bigger, but baby a good size.baby a has material yolk sac, placenta stuff per md, no heart beat. We have another scan coming up. Doc said I have twins, but no promises if baby a will catch up. Any similiar stories? I can't wait until Wed, so I am reaching for straws.

Welcome to TS and Congratulations on your Twin Pregnancy! I have no personal experience, but from what I have read you are still really early and I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Hopefully someone with a similar experience will share their story. Best of Luck to you!!!

:wavey: and welcome to twinstuff!! Yes, it is still really early. My RE had warned me before my first u/s at 6.5 weeks that we may not see any heartbeats because it was so early. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Keep us updated on things.

It's hard to say at 6 weeks. I definitely think you could get a second heartbeat. the next one will tell you more. I implanted 3 and say two heartbeats at 7 weeks. Good luck!

Hi and welcome to TS! Well it's still real early in the game, but we also did IVF and implanted three. At the ultrasound one day shy of 6wks, there were two sacs but we could see only one heartbeat at that point. My doctor said there may be twins in there and we'd have to wait and see. We went back a week later and saw two strong little heartbeats. Good luck to you! :)

I had an IUI but similar story. By 7 weeks both had heartbeats. I am now almost 14 weeks and twin B has always been behind by about 1 week. So far everything's been good. Good luck and hope you find another heart beating away next week.

Hi and welcome to TS. I had IVF and had an ultrasound in the emergency room at almost 6 weeks exactly. We saw both heartbeats at that time, but I think its possible you may not see one til later. Good luck!!

6 weeks is still on the early end for heartbeats. I wouldn't worry. If you do not see them during the 7th week, though, it may be cause for concern. We saw two heartbeats at 6w6d and my doc had warned that during the 6th week, some see them, some don't. Good luck.

It's still early -- there's definitely hope for the second baby.

At 5 weeks we saw one with a heart beginning to move and one empty sac.
At 6 weeks we saw one strong heartbeat, not sure if the doctor looked thoroughly at the other sac or not.
At 8 weeks we saw triplets! All three with strong heartbeats, but one baby measuring significantly smaller than the others.
At 9 weeks we were back to twins, and both have survived and grown steadily so far.

We also did IVF transfered two embryos. We had an ultrasound at 6weeks 2 days. Saw two sacs, and one with fetal pole and heartbeat, the other sac was smaller, and couldn't see anything in it. We went back 6 days later and saw both babies and heartbeats. I am now 35 weeks 2days pregnant with boy/girl twins!! It is hard to see everything that early and their development could be off by only a couple of days and you could miss things with an early ultrasound. I hope you see both babies next ultrasound!

THank you for your posting and to all these responses. Congratulations about your babies!!!I try to remain positive about the preganacy and upbeat about having twins. Then I feel like I have to be prepared for having one healthy baby. Ironic that going thru IVF everyone's goal is to have a healthy baby. Then when you are told there are two , selfishness comes over and now I want both to be perfect. If I have one, i assume I will feel bad about the one lost, then overly joyed about having a singelton, two conflicting feelings at the same time. I am not a reliugous person, but I realize there is a higher power going on when it comes to having children. Rest up and congrats again. I will look for your updates!!
