Are we the only ones?

So are there any other twins that sleep in the same bed? My twins have always been together and I plan on keeping it that way unless it becomes an issue later on in life. In fact my older boys who are almost 2 yrs apart often sleep in the same bed by choice. They have their own bunks.
I've just recently been visiting twinstuff again and am lurking a little. I guess all the bed switching talk makes me curious if we are the unusual ones with them together.

We seperated ours at seven months. They got very curious about eachothers' face and started to pull at ears and hair and generally bother eachother's sleep. It was hard for me to seperate them because I had envisioned them staying together a lot longer. They share a room now and I often find them curled up sleeping together in one of their beds.

Though it may seem like it at time, you are not alone. My girls will be 5 next month and they have never ever slept apart.

Everyone does it differently -- mine have never actually slept together, and then we put them in separate rooms at about 16 months. It's all good. :D

I'm really just curious. I can definitely see how the boy girl twins would want to be seperated after a while. LOL For a while there I even considered putting all four boys into one room and using the twins room as an upstairs play room. The big boys room is HUGE. I almost feel sorry for the twins in their tiny room. Fortunately they are tiny guys still. ;)

Jacob and Boden only slept in the same crib for maybe 3 weeks. I had friends that made me feel terrible for separating them - but I told them that as soon as they were born, they were in separate isolettes/cribs in the NICU for the first 6 weeks of their life, so, it's all they know. :)

Anyway, they have always been crazy sleepers so at about 10 weeks or so we just put them in their own cribs. We had already bought the extra crib so we figured we might as well use it.

As far as separate rooms, we aren't there yet and I'm not looking forward to it. As of now we don't have a room for each of our 3 kids, so the boys are going to have to share for awhile anyway. I just hope that they continue to sleep as well in the same room as they do now.

My two shared a crib until they went to twin beds at just over 2 years old. Now, they have their own bed, but usually they still sleep together.

My two shared a crib until around 15 months or so, had separate cribs in the same room until around the 3 year mark (yes 3) and they shared a bed until we moved here a few weeks ago. They now have twin beds in the same room. Being g/b, we'll probably separate them for good within the next year or so but so far there's been no reason to.

We separated them at around 3 months or so because B started kicking J in his sleep, waking him up. Ours however, have VERY different sleep patterns and needs so there's no way they'd be able to sleep in the same bed. They do share a room for now, but I'm afraid once we go to toddler beds we may need to give them their own room. I'm afraid J will try to keep B up and B NEEDS and WANTS sleep. All kids are different-- do what works for yours!! :)

Ours shared one once they got home from the NICU until they were around 4 months old.
They were just too restless and kept waking each other up.

Ours are in the same room, but not the same bed. They will share a bigger bed when we travel. Then we have "he kicked me" type nonsense, so that's SUPER - not! ;)

    Glad it's working for you!

So I guess the concensus is we are the odd ones out. LOL I am a little surprised. Interesting though. Thanks for the responses.

Happy sleep time to everyone. :)

It's important that we from the US remember that we have a wide variety of options available to us.
It's even more important to recognize that these options are "extras" satifiying our wants, not our needs.

There is no baby or child in the world that "needs" it's own room. The majority of the world's population do not live in houses large enough for each child to have it's own room, no matter what their sex or the sex of their siblings and their children sleep fine. Certainly it's a comfort and a privledge to be able to offer your children their own rooms. But it's not a need, nor should any parent who can't do so feel bad about it.

We'll get our country out of the mess it's in at the moment when we stop confusing our wants with our needs.

My girls share a full size bed. When we we getting them new beds, we asked them if they wanted to get 2 twins or one big bed. They wanted the big bed. They have a second bedroom that has a twin daybed that they can sleep in if they don't wan't to be together, but they want to sleep together.

Ours shared the same bed until they were 22 months old and then slept in separate cribs, but still in our bedroom, until they were almost 4 years old. Now they're in their shared room, and initially we had placed their beds on opposite walls; this didn't last long as they pushed them together during the night and have slept side by side since then!

    So no, you're not unusual.

My girls were very active sleepers, so we seperated them early on. We ended up with the cribs pushed together in the middle of the room so they could sleep next to each other. Once we moved to toddler beds, they ended up pushed together too to make one bigger bed. We just moved them apart due to space issues Jessica was having-Katelyn wanted to sleep on the one mattress with Jessica and that was not working. I'm debating whether to get twin beds or one full when they outgrow the toddler beds.

My boys are in beds that are right next to each other, so it's like sleeping in one big bed. When we went to visit the grandparents, they slept in separate beds that were in the same room. Well, we discovered that one of them actually can not fall asleep by himself even if his brother was sleeping in the same room! I don't know if it's something he'll grow out of, but I just never expected it since he's never had any sleep issues before.

My girls are 6.5 and in the same room still. My sis (not a twin) and I shared a room until we were 10 and 12. I know my friend's daughters often slept in the same bed (also not twins) until around 10 and 12. They just liked being together. This whole 'everyone needs a room alone' thing is overrated.

the boys never slept in 1 crib. Now they have beds they stay in there own. I don't even think they realise that they could sleep in 1 together. But if they wanted too, it would be no problem

    I so agree with you!
I always had my own room, so don't know how it is to share a room. But the boys will have to share. I have had comments that we will HAVE to give them an own room. I see no reason.

My girls share a crib till around 14 months when there was just not enough room for both and we put them in seperate toddler beds. Well turns out Jessy gets too cold if she sleeps by herself and wakes up and comes and gets in bed with me. They now have identical twin beds but still sleep together in one
