My husband was entering a coffee shop this morning with the girls and a man walking out looked down into the stroller and said "twins eh!" my DH said "yes!" (happily) and the man said "man, you should've kept it in your pants." and walked out!

    Can you believe that!

I know that it was really rude of that man to say that (people have such nerve!!) - but it is also funny! When we were leaving the hospital after my 6 week postpartum appt. my DH was pushing the double stroller and two men passed us, looked at the babies, looked at my DH and said "Better you than me, man.". We laughed so hard afterwards.

WOW!! It never ceases to amaze me what people say to us with multiples!! Kuddos to your hubby for keeping his cool. I guess that comment can be taken several ways. People have no idea the joy it is having two at once. Too bad for them!

People really need to learn to keep their comments to themselves. What gives people the right to think they can say anything to everybody ?? That would be like me going up to a singleton mom of a boy (for example) and saying "oh a boy... sorry for YOU !! they are alot of work" that would be rude. And saying something to someone with multiples is too.

People are just so weird. Haven't they heard "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" ?!

wow... I can't believe someone would say something like to a total stranger! That's a pretty bold statement to say w/o knowing how the person would react! Although I have to admit that like other pp's I did giggle a bit...

Yeah, I got a 'legs closed' comment once.

How ru-ude! (in my best Michelle Tanner impression) eta: Oh, as if it is his fault since twins are genetic through the mom!

Wow.. well that's not something you expect to hear [IMG] How awkward.. [IMG]

Though it is kind of funny. Mostly cause you think of the ignorant rude f'ers out there who just say whatever they want to whomever [IMG]

I think my husband just smiled because it was a funny comment, but he also didn't have a good chance to say anything since the guy continued on out the door. I think the comment that bothers me more than all other "twin" comments out there is "oh twins, I wish I had twins!" I just want to day "you have no idea what the h@ll you are saying!" like its soooo cute/fun to have two infants at once!

ETA: I told my hubby this, and first he laughed, and then he said ... wow - that guy was a total a-hole!

My boyfriend was working one day last week and he had a guy come in with his 3 yo twins and his 12 yr old. He was yelling at them pretty much the whole time and he did nothing but complain.. about his 'stupid wife' and his kids. My boyfriend told him 'my girlfriend has 18 month old twins and they're great'. the guy looked at him and told him he better run while we weren't married because twins are horrible. my boyfriend told the guy have a nice day and passed the sale over to someone else. he was done dealing with the guy.

some people are just jerks. good for your husband for just letting it go!
