ive been using swaddlers sensitive but BJ's sells huggies...
i bought a small package at BRU to try them out but haven't done so yet.

whats the difference between the two? what do you prefer?

We use Huggies. The boys get rashes with any other brand. I really liked luvs till the rashes happened. Good luck!

If I'm choosing my favorite brand regardless of price, then I definitely prefer pampers. Mine wear luvs during the day because they are much cheaper and they sleep in the pampers baby dry, which are made to be worn overnight (12 hours). I tried huggies, but wasn't a big fan. I really like pampers, but I can't justify paying so much more, when luvs work just fine. Pamers seem to be much softer and leak less, from my experience.

I like both brands. When the twins were newborns we really liked the swaddlers, we had not tried Huggies at that point. Now I go between Pampers,Huggies (when they are on sale), or the store brands.

We use pampers swaddlers right now, we did try huggies but they seemed to run a little larger than Pampers did. Since they're cords fell off we've also tried the Wal*Mart brand newborn diapers (they didn't have the little cut out at the top) and they've worked very well also PLUS they're about $7 cheaper for the 2 jumbo packs than Pampers and Huggies are. Our Wal*Mart just stopped selling the Newborn size and the smallest now that they sell are size 1's. As soon as our little munchkins are big enough for them we're switching back to the Wal*Mart brand to save $$$$$.

To me, Huggies seem a bit bulkier in the crotch area than Pampers Swaddlers. When my largest girl (around 8 lbs now) wets a Huggies diaper, it weighs a ton and starts to sag. Then it leaks around the legs. Swaddlers are less bulky and have a little snugger fit.

IMO it depends on the baby. With DS I only liked Pampers and with all of my DDs I've preferred Huggies. I've been finding that Pampers Swaddlers seem to "leak" through the diaper, not from the sides or back. It's almost like the diaper is wet on the outside, if that makes any sense.

We tried Huggies when the kids were in preemie and newborn diapers, but they leaked really bad, so we started using Pampers Swaddlers which we really like. Never had a leak with Pampers. Now that they have put on some weight and their thighs are no longer thin and scrawny, we might go back and try them again. The Huggies do seem to run a little larger than the Pampers. We have also used the Target Up & Up brand and like them too but not as much as Pampers. Our next trial pack will be from Wal-Mart just to compare, lol, always looking for a way to shave costs!!

We've used both and I prefer the Pampers Swaddlers - seem to be better catching blowouts and they are so soft. However, I have to say I am also a fan of Luvs, and I think Pampers makes them. Seems like the girls feel it more when they are wet vs. the nicer quality of Pampers, but Luvs are a great diaper - we have not had any rash problems yet though. Huggies just felt stiff to me. So far in Denver I have not been able to find a huge cost savings between Luvs and Pampers except for a couple bucks. So I have just been ordering large cases off of Diapers.com. I hope to try Kirkland (costco brand) when the girls are older. I have heard great things.

I never really liked the Pampers, but they felt like they'd be comfortable. The fact that they are more $$ than other brands makes me not like them also [IMG]

I always liked the Luv's cause they're not bulky and they're cheaper, but they also don't hold much and aren't very good to use for night time. We're a big fan of Huggies and haven't had a problem with them. Though comparing them with Luv's they do seem bulky, but we've never had a leak [unless we put them on awkwardly].

I use Pamper swaddlers with my boys.. They seem to be alot softer then Huggies for a more comfy fit! And they don't sag like Huggies do when they go to the bathroom..

Honestly, in the beginning, I went with what was cheapest. I didn't like the store brands and actually still don't. Huggies tended to leak more at certain stages. I really like Pampers (purple and yellow ones..can't remember the names) when the boys were really little, then Pampers Baby Dry b/c they were cheaper and worked just as well. Around 8 months I gave Luvs another shot (they leaked when the boys were in size 1) and I've been hooked ever since!

We were a Pampers only family. They always worked great for all of my kids. We started and ended with them.

When I was starting out, I asked my sister the same question. She told me that Huggies tend to be better for boys and Pampers tend to be better for girls. Whether or not that's true, I don't know. What I do know, is that I LOVE Pampers Swaddlers. They are sooooo much softer than Huggies or Luvs or any store brands. I have a hard time going from soft, cuddly Pampers to hard, scratchy Huggies on their soft little hineys! But that's just my personal preference, from someone who has used both. They are a bit more expensive, but I just buy them in cases at Wal-Mart or wherever they are on sale. A babysitter once picked up a bunch of packages of Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive when she found them at a usually expensive grocery store for $4.99 a package! You've got to watch for good deals--they're out there!

    GL!

I started off with whatever was given to me! I had a mixture of Huggies and Pampers, and overall I guess I preferred the Pampers. However, I ended up with Target brand diapers, and saved a bundle comparatively speaking.

When they were first born, I really liked the Swaddlers. Then, later we switched to Huggies & sometimes the Kirkland brand from Costco.

Between Huggies and Pampers I like Pampers better - definitely.

However, we use Luvs during the day and cloth prefolds/covers at night to help ward off diaper rash. (DD gets it something awful.) :( Luvs and Pampers are virtually the same diaper in my opinion.. they're both great. :D

Depends on the baby and their shape.

Older DS ~ Tried huggies, luvs, pampers and walmart brand, pampers fit him the best. Loved the swaddlers and cruisers. Huggies leaked up the back and luvs just sucked period, no elasticity in them.

Older DS ~ Tried pampers and huggies, huggies supreme fit her butt the best. Course they are the most expensive around here! Pampers leaked out her leg holes (she had chubby legs and needed the tighter elastic around them.)

Twins ~ Tried walmart, pampers and huggies supreme and regulars, the supreme's work the best but regulars are tolerable and a bit cheaper. Supremes have the best elastic in them now (pampers used to but they've changed them since ds....who is 7 yrs old now), regulars have okay elastic, pampers elastic sucks and walmart has no elastic.

I build babies with big bellies and no hips/butt to rest a diaper on. I need tight elastic to wrap around their waist and hold everything up! :p

That is why I prefer Pampers. Plus, Huggies was too big in the legs and we had so many leaks it was driving me crazy. Right now I am using the Baby Dry and am very happy with it!
