Formula standing in the fridge...

Is there any problems with pre-mixing formula and leaving it in the fridge to heat up later? I tend to mix 3 meals in advance, but I have heard conflicting opinions on doing this. If it is a bad idea, why?

We used to make it the night before for all of the following days feedings. I've never heard that you shouldn't do that.

If mixing from powder it can stay in fridge for 24 hrs. We have been mixing in large batches from when they started on formula around 12 weeks.

We always made it a day at a time (and after 6 months, I abandoned the 24 hour rule and made two days of bottles at a time (I know, I'm living on the edge). I've never heard any problems with it.

The instructions state that premixed, not used formula can stay in the fridge for up to 48 hours (at least that is what mine says).

Yes! I was not a bad mother! (Maybe I read that in an exhausted stupor. :) )

I always heard 24 hours. I made a big pitcher of formula in the morning, enough to last the day, then started over the next morning.

We mix up 48 oz of formula at a time and prepare bottles in advance for the day.
