I'm going to call the office tomorrow to double check, but is it ok for them to be sick during a WBV?

They both came down with a bit of a cold late Friday (runny nose, a little coughing and I suspect there might be an ear infection, but Andy's only tugged at his ear twice in the past 48 hours, so maybe I'm over reacting). Anyway, their 9 month appointment is on Tuesday, is this a problem? Does it interfere with vaccines?

Mine have been sick when they happened to be scheduled for a well check. I think there are some shots they don't like to give when they are sick, so they may postpone those possibly. Otherwise, they'll still be able to check everything else they need to. Our pedi's haven't minded that they were brought in sick or that I didn't schedule or seperate visit.

For their 9 month visit I dont think it matters since they arent getting any vaccines at that age if you are on a traditional vaccine schedule. And most will say that a little cold is no reason not to vaccinate. I would think it would be fine, especially if they are pulling at their ears.

I agree. There are no vaccinations at 9 months, so it shouldn't matter. They will be able to do anything they need to do, even if they aren't feeling great. Let us know how it goes!

My first DS turned out to be sick at his 9 mo well baby visit (2 ear infections), unbeknowst to me. Aside from me feeling badly that I didn't know (I thought he was teething, no fever or anything), everything worked out well. I think he even got a vaccine then.

Our ped said they could have a cold and still have a WBV and vaxes, but if they have a fever (over 99) or are too sick to go to daycare, the WBV should be rescheduled.
