Congratulations!!! I am terrified of having to do a vaginal and a C-section...so I opted just to do C-section from the beginning (you're a stronger/braver person than me!!). Sounds like you have nice healthy-sized boys!!! Hope all continues to go well. :birthday:

Now that i'm not all groggy and actually have a few minutes i can type. I went into labor around midnight last night and finally went into the hospital about 3am. I was 4-5cm dilated and james's head was in +2 position. I got an epidural fairly early for fear that things would go so fast that i wouldnt get one in time. Unfortunately the epidural slowed things down and i stayed at 5-6cm dilated for awhile until they decided to break my water and give me a smidge of pitocin. I kicked back into full gear and James delivered easily. Unfortunately as soon as James was born, my uterus decided to slam closed and Jonathan's water came in a gush, they couldnt move him vertex and he turned transverse with both his hand and his cord already coming out, so they had to do an emergency csection. Glad i opted for the epidural or they would've had to knock me out! Both boys were lil troopers and have had a lil bit low blood sugar so they had a lil formula right off the bat while i was still recovering. They are both in the room with me and should have no problems coming home when i go home monday or tuesday. I still cant believe they are here! They are perfect! Here's a couple pics from right after they were born. Enjoy!

Congratulations! I hope this doesn't sound wierd but I'm glad to hear you are so upbeat and positive after having to have both vag and C - I am trying vag and am terrified of this, but it makes me glad to know that clearly the joy of having 2 wonderful babies overshadows it. Big congrats and best wishes to you!

The combo birth was actually my biggest fear of labor too and it ended up not being as bad as i feared it would be. James i think was small enough that the vaginal part wasnt too bad and apparently i'm recovering pretty darn well from the csection part too (making sure to stay ahead on the pain meds). The no nicu time has definitely been a blessing and i dont doubt the steroid shots i got a few weeks ago helped keep em outta there. I'll admit i was happy to have made it to week 35 when all the drs and everyone thought i wouldnt make it that long. I'll definitely be one to say that the strict bedrest is what kept my boys cooking as long as they did (almost 9 weeks of it). I think i'm still in a bit of shock looking at my TWO babies but man is it rewarding! Good luck to you ladies still cookin, you can do it! :woo:
