So my twin girls are coming up on 1 month old at the end of this week and I also have a four year old DD. My hubby and I have been tossing around the idea of taking all the kids on a trip to CA and to AZ at the end of next month (making the twins just under 2 months old). That means a six hour trip on a plane, and hotels, and rental cars and all the rest of the craziness that comes with traveling. Are we completely nuts?? Anyone traveled with babies this young - any tips?? Thanks!!

That's probably going to be one of the easiest times to travel, since they'll sleep a good bit still! :D I don't think you are crazy at all!!

We make a 2000 mile trip driving to my parents place in canada every summer, ds was 5 months old the first trip and that was rough, by day 3 he didn't want to sit in his carseat anymore. But we all survived, and it was worth every crying moment! :p

I've not done it with kids that young, just wanted to wish you luck if you decide to give it a go! :good: Just don't forget to pack your patience.

We drove from BC to Alabama when my older 3 were ages 4, 2, and 3 months and we took all the kids to Disney World when the twins were 5 months and have flown with them all several times since then. It can be done, you just have to plan, plan, plan and then expect all of your plans to not be enough. Seriously, if you just take the attitude that you are going to enjoy it no matter what happens, you'll be fine. For the plane, try to fly direct with no stopovers and always pack more than you think you will need as far as clothes & food. Other than that, HAVE FUN! And remember, at least they are too young to keep saying "Are we there yet?" or "How much longer?" every 5 minutes!

I don't think that is crazy at all! If your babies are anything like mine were they will sleep the whole time and not even be phased by all the traveling.

I just wanted to say I think you are crazy :faint: But that is just me. I would have anxiety over every little thing. If you go, have a great time.

We flew across country for a house hunting trip when the babies were 3.5 weeks old, then did a cross country move from KY to WA when they were 7 weeks old thanks to the Army. The flight was fine and pretty easy but the drive omg. Yes they sleep the whole time on the plane and in the car but for me it was brutal because they slept SO much during the day despite efforts to wake them, etc they totally did not sleep at night. It was already bad enough w/ all the nighttime feedings we were still doing. Best of luck on your trip - things will probably be just fine.
