    Hi all,
We are wondering what are twin parents doing for sleeping arragenment for 2 1/2 year olds. We don't know where to put our kids to sleep when they stay over at their grandparents or if we travel with them. We were thinking of buying two infateble mattress but I also thought that we could get cots.

My twin two year olds will sleep on a mattress on the floor at my mom's house when we visit her in two weeks. They'll have their own room, and will probably sleep at opposite ends of the twin size mattress. My mom has extra beds, but I thought this would probably be the safest because if one of my girls falls out of bed, it's not very far to fall with just a mattress. My girls are short enough that they can sleep across the width of the bed, so we might do that too.

We have some inflatables that we keep at one G'parent's house and my Mom has twin beds, so they use those now. We used to use a PnP. But sleeping bags on the floor would probably work as well!

We bought twin size air mattresses and used them our last two trips. They worked out very well!!

We switched ours to beds a month before they turned 2 1/2 because we were going to grandma's for Christmas, and we knew they wouldn't stay in pack and plays, so we decided to make the transition. Grandma has a room with 2 twin beds, so that is theirs whenever we go there. They have slept there ever since. At my mom's house, she has a pull out couch and they share that with a pillow in between them.

Thanks! We bought two twin size air mattresses, know we are just hoping they don't roll off, since they move a lot when they sleep. [IMG]

We had inflatables and also a folding toddler cot. They really like those now too. I can't find them online but you can search for them. They are lower to the floor and they fold into a bag like adult sized cots do. In camping sections usually.

    ETA: Kinda like this.

I didn't travel much with the kids when they were still in cribs, but they slept on crib mattresses on the floor at my parents' house and did fine. (One time they were 23 months, the other time 35 months.)

Well -- they slept fine, but they did roll off ALL the time. We just piled lots of pillows around the mattresses. I also slept in the same room and woke a few times during the night (which I do anyway) to haul them back onto their mattresses. But they slept through the whole thing. They probably wouldn't have even minded being on the floor, but I was just worried they'd end up UNDER my bed or stuck under the radiator or something.

We tried a couple toddler traveling beds without much success. One they rolled right over the sides and another from One Step Ahead was impossible to get the sheet back on after washing and the "rim" was held by Velcro and moved around. I am pretty sure the second one mentioned is discontinued.

We finally just went to Sports Authority and bought these Exercise Mats

They are thick and fold up. We just brought sheets and tucked them under and they used their blankets. When they moved to converted toddler beds we also used them to place right under their bed in case they fell out. They have worked well for us. When we first purchased them we let them walk on it to get used to it and explained what they were for.

One of my girls rolls around quite a bit too, and she never fell off. My personal thought was even if she did, she's very close to the ground, KWIM? You'll have to come back and let us know how it worked out. :good:
