It really does get so much better after 6 months!

I know it's been said so many time before, but for those new mommies struggling to get through each day, I just wanted to tell you it gets so much better. The first 6 months of my boys' life were miserable. No sleep, lots of eating/dairy issues, tons of crying from so much gas. It was just awful. However, my boys are almost 10 months now and I really don't know where the time went. They are sleeping 11 to 12 hours a night with 2 set naps everyday now. They are so much fun. They are crawling, feeding themselves table food, and Owen even took his first steps today! It is still a challenge just to keep up with their schedule and a 3 year old, but getting a full night sleep really make a big difference. So, don't feel guilty about not enjoying your newborn twins (I know some of you do, but really, I didn't). You do love them and you will eventually really enjoy them. You're just tired!

I'm glad things are getting better for you! 6 months does seem kind of the turn around time for things to start improving.

WOW, I am so glad that you posted this! I was saying to DH today that the boys are getting more and more fun everyday! I am just trying to take it all in everyday because with two it goes so fast. Thanks for letting us know that today is great, but tomorrow is even better!

I'm glad to hear that it gets better because it's been an awful week. My boys will be 6 months in just a few weeks, but in adjusted age they're only 4-1/2 months.

:woo: great to know your having a blast.

I agree with this, i can now see light at the end of the tunnel! When the girls aren't teething they are on a good feed and nap routine and are happy and playful when they are awake. They are stll waking for 1 feed but they go to sleep on there own and naps are longer so all in all i would say things are so much better than in the early days.

thanks for posting I need the encouragement lately. Mine are 2 months old and it has been SO HARD!!!

I've decided that if the government needs a form of tourture they could let prisoners take care of newborn twins for a few days....LOL

 so glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel!!

For the most part things have been good, they are both sttn, they eat good..etc. My problem is rylee has colic, and it's driving me crazy! Nearly every afternoon around 5pm she starts crying/screaming/fussing and nothing I does seems to help until around 10pm at night. While I'm sleeping good at night, I'm getting exhausted just dealing with her screaming, not to mention the other twin and 2 older kids and trying to get supper fixed before dh gets home from work at 7pm. *sigh* I hope the colic clears up by 6 months too!!

Yeah when does it stop? When pregnant we wanted to just make it through...Now I need to get to the point where I enjoy them. When they are sleep they look so cute and adorable that you just want to kiss them and spend quality time with them...but when they wake..it's a different story. Thanks for posting...I guess the light at the endof the tunnel will be at the 6 mth. mark..cause it has been very challenging. Mine are 3wks. and a day.

It seemed to get easier at 3 months, better yet at 6 months, & at almost 9 months it's easier, but now that they are on the move (crawling), it's crazy again. Definitely a fun crazy though, nothing like the "survival mode" of the first 3 months.

I'm so glad I gave some of you encouragement to get through the day! I remember really needing it in the early days and that is why I posted. Hang in there ladies!
