I am only 22 weeks but I am so uncomfortable at all times that I don't sleep very well at all. I don't remember being this uncomfortable this early with my son but then he was also just one baby not two. The heat is just killing me. I can't walk anywhere by myself because I have fainted a few times walking already since the summer starter when I have tried to walk to places. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stay atleast semi comfortable since I still have 15 or more weeks to go?

I'm staying inside with my A/C on! I'm in Edmonton too, and it's supposed to be hot here in the next few days. I'm NOT looking forward to it!

So far, I'm doing ok sleeping with a body pillow - have you tried any extra pillows?

  I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable. :( Other then sitting inside with the a/c on, I don't know how else you can keep comfy and from fainting. Please take care of yourself. Don't forget to drink alot of water when it's hot like that.

I am sorry you feel uncomfortable and I know the heat is not helping either. Hang in there!

We have a pool and I've been living in there.

However, I highly suggest keeping your feet in a bucket of ice cold water when you are sitting. It really cools your body off.

I'm 22 weeks as well and I totoally feel for you!!! I just bought one of those portable air conditioners last night. I finally gave in, and decided why should I suffer the heat? especially when sleeping. I use 2 pillows, one on either side to prop up the belly and go between the legs (lots of hip pain). Sometimes I feel bad for complaining about my discomforts because I know there is still such a long way to go but you know sometimes you just need to let it out. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water and walk slow if its hot out. I think all the extra blood volume can make you feel faintish. Try getting a little kids pool and fill it up with cold water/run through the sprinkler (why should kids have all the fun). My grandma used to run cold water over her wrists to cool off, it cools the blood or something. Hang it there!!!

I agree, if you dont have a/c then soaking your feet w/ cold cold water is a great idea :good:
Also trying different positions with LOTS of pillows when trying to sleep!!
I made a 'wedge' with a pillow & put that under the side of my tummy & that worked really well ~
    Good luck & stay hydrated!

 So sorry you're having such a rough time! I'm in SE Alberta and today is a scorcher! I am wishing I could take my family and go play at a park or lake but alas I just can't. :( We are using A/C and fans to stay cool. A kiddie pool is a good idea too. Best of luck to you. It's hard, I won't lie just do the best you can and if you have to let it out then do it, have a good cry. I find having mini-meltdowns every day helpful LOL. ;)

I live in an apartment so I can't have a pool but I am moving to a townhouse on the 27th and bought a pool for my son. Lol! Moreso for me I think though. I had another fainting spell at work today. That's the 3rd time in July and I had one very bad one in June. I am hoping that my doctor will just put me on leave as my store manager told me that they can not make my job any easier then they already have and that I can't keep leaving working like that. I spend alot of time at home in cool baths but then as soon as i am out I am extremly warm again. Its a no win situation I think.

No matter which side i lay on one baby is unhappy. I have friends who said sleeping in a recliner was good for them I havnt tried yet, it doesnt sound as good as my bed, and other than that i just try to stay at home when it all possible

If you ask my DW, she will swear to the Body Pillow.

She was just like you and at exactly 22 weeks, she really started having trouble sleeping. It just hit her one night.

My parents wanted to know what to get her for her birthday and I told them. They got the body pillow(can't remember the exact name, but it was the maternity pillow they sell at wal-mart), shipped right over to her.

I thought it just might help, but she could not stop talking about it and after just one night wanted to be on a commercial for them professing how well it works...ha

Hmmmm A body pillow. I am willing to try anything. I went to bed over an hour and half ago and am still awake because I am too uncomfortable. Since I work at Wal Mart it should be easy to find out if we have them at the one I work at! Thank you very much for all your suggestions! I am going to start trying them all! Lol!

I have the boppy body pillow; I don't use it for my head like they show on the picture but I cuddle the top part, the bottom part goes between my legs. I was having a horrible time staying on my side as I wanted to roll onto my front. I have found with this I stay pretty much in one spot all night (except for the several bathroom trips!)

I am so glad you posted this. I hit 22ish weeks, and have been incredibly uncomfortable for the past several days. I feel awful for complaining, and I can't imagine that this just gets steadily worse. My ribs are hurting on the left side, and the only thing that helps is ice, and laying/sitting with my back arched so that it pulls my belly away from the ribs. I am having trouble breathing already - can't even draw in a big enough breath to sneeze properly!

I'm lucky that we have awesome a/c here, so at least I don't have to worry about that!! :)

If anything, it's encouraging me to get stuff done *now* before I just don't want to move. Like cleaning the nursery out so hubby can put down the flooring.

Yes...my DW was saying the same thing. The "pillow between the legs" was the best part for her.

Hey...she loves it and really said it helps. It's not too expensive. If it ends up not working for you...at least you tried.

I also sent her a lot of links on helping you sleep while pregnant. Not sure if they will all work, but I am pretty sure some are worth a try...

Sorry...I tried to find the links I e-mailed her, but I must have deleted them. I just "yahoo'd...Help sleeping when you are pregnant" They had a lot of different links.

    Hope something works for you.

Ahah! So that is where Ontario's summer has gone! We haven't had the air conditioner on since a few days in late June!

And for damonsmommy--please make sure you're drinking enough and eating enough, and maybe you should get your blood pressure checked. A cool cloth (not ice) on the back of the neck will help to cool you down.

I sleep with just a regular pillow inbetween my legs at night. It just seems to be my legs period. I have restless leg syndrome now and it just gets worse the longer I lay down for. I can't really sleep at anytime of the day and feel like i am on the verge of having a breakdown. I have tried everything I can think of. I think its just the position of the baby that sits lower.
I try to eat and drink. I drink alot that I know. As for eating I try to eat as much as I possibly can. And my blood pressure is on the low side but not dangerously low yet. It was like that with my son though to so I don't think my OB is too concerned about it. I am just not dealing well with 2 hours of sleep out of 24 hours. Lol maybe he will finally listen to me.
