I never got around to posting in the NICU forum, but I did mention in my birth post that Jill had to stay in the NICU due to oxygen deprivation which was causing these weird shakes and shivers. She stayed in the NICU for three very, very, very LONG days but came home yesterday!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

We won't know for a while if there are any long lasting effects, but for now, it just feels soooo good to be a family!

Okay, looks like I'm off to the First Year Forum! Can't wait to see some of you girls over there very soon!!!! :)

I am very happy that Jill had a short NICU stay. By God's grace, there won't be any long lasting effect. Hope u check back in here once in a while to share in your pregnancy experience with us. Good luck on this new journey!

that is AWESOME that jill is home...word of advice...when my son issac was born, he had seizures starting at about 11 days old...how they would manifest is that he would stop breathing...we took him to the e.r. and they admitted him to the picu...it gradually developed in to seizure shakes and shivers...keep a close eye on jill...and ask them if they have checked for seizures...for some reason, it seems to be something that goes "missed" more often than not...

That was the first thing they checked for in the NICU...although they said that babies don't exhibit seizures the way adults do (shaking, shivering, etc.) but that they stop breating like your son. They tested her and found that she wasn't seizuring so that is good. How is your son now?
