I might be clutching at straws but does teething pain sort or reach a peak before one pops through? Both my babies are really going through it right now and the last 2days have been awful, worse than ever. I can see the gum has sort of gone white, it looks like bone and another part of the gums i can see a tiny white spot where you would imagine one sprouting. They are suffering so badly, before i could dose them up and see some sort of improvement but nothing is helping them at all. To make matters worse they are both hungry but refuse to have the bottle anywhere near them, i can sometime get 2ounce down Amber but i have to pin her down and force it down her so i have taken to spoon feeding them it, this had been working brilliantly until these last2 days. For some reason Amber projectile vomitted the other day during solids and then again in her bed yesterday afternoon, today she seems scared when whatever i am feeding hits her tongue so she gags and looks to be holding vomit at bay. I feel so bad for them, they keep on bursting out crying as if in agony it's awful that i don't seem to be able to do much to help, just feeling really useless and want these horrible teeth to show themseleves!!! :gah:

 Mine most definitely have the worst pain right before the tooth pops through. They also seemed to have worse pain with their first bottom teeth than any of the rest. I hope they start feeling better soon!

Thanx Aimee! This gives me some hope that maybe just maybe they are finally going to come. I never imagined kids suffered so much with there teeth, it's nuts. You are not the first person to tell me the there lo's first few have been the hardest to cut so again i'm hopeful that is the case for my two aswell.

yeah, DS was in agony right before his teeth popped through.. one reason why they may not be eating well is the excess saliva that they produce when teething which they either drool out or swallow. this can upset the tummy and make them less hungry.

hope those mean little teeth show themselves soon!!

Have you tried putting a little oragel on the gums before giving them a bottle? This worked for us sometimes too. Right now we're going through the 'one year molars' [I think] so I feel what you're going through  it'll get better soon! Promise!

Aw Thanx so much ladies! It really does help to know were not alone in this :grouphug:

Ohjojo that is something i'd not thought of! That could well explain the two episodes of projectile vomitting from my Amber poo, she isn't drooling as much as she has in the past but i didn't think much of it as she shows all other telltale signs of teething. I bet she is swallowing all that dribble and is feeling all queasy, poor baby!!

    Congratulations on that toothy Piccologirl!!

Valerie - Ouch on the screaming episode last night! Not fun for them or you is it, i hope he cuts them very soon!

    Thanx Nancy!

Aw it sucks doesn't it Tandc, the bottles refusal is driving me to the absolute brink of insanity now aswell! I have always, always been concerned about how much they eat as they were small at birth, they are caught up weightwise but this actually feels more worrying than when they were teenytiny!?! I would love to be able to dreamfeed them again but since the transition from moses basket to cotbed they just seem to wake up as soon as i lift them up. I can't feed them laid down because of reflux so i'm stuck really. People say babies wont starve themselves and that statement has to be true because i don't see how else i can get food down them other than waiting until she is starving hungry enough.

Hey Suzy  sorry your girlies are suffering, i have heard horror stories about those molars! The oragel trick had been working until the last couple of days, i would try them without it and then if they refused i would offer dentinox (the uk equivalent) and sure enough they would go back on and have some more but i think they are getting wise to my tricks lol

P.s sorry me being the technophobe that i am hasn't figured out how to work the multiquoute thingymabobbybutton!!

You just click on the multiquote button on each post that you want to quote, then when you click Add Reply (but you can't use Fast Reply) all of those posts will come up in your reply box. Or you can keep doing it the way you just did, which works just fine too (but is a bit more work for you).

What if you had them nap sitting up (boppies with a rolled up towel, carseat, bouncy chair) and then dream fed them. I know it's rough. Jope you find a solution soon. My boys are huge and I still worry about them getting enough.

Hey thanx for the idiots guide Tina!! This had better of worked now or i really am a lost cause

 Thankyou so much! I hope your babies don't suffer to bad when they start! Apparantly some babies cut them with no drama? Or maybe that is a fib!

Thanx  i will definately try that! We used to have them nap in carseats and i often fed them this way, it is like taking a step back on the sleep front but i do not care so long as they are being fed well!!! I wonder if the whole worrying about there food intake ever leaves you? Last night was no better at all. They were up ALL night and fed twice, i could tell the first feed didn't really satisfy them but they just gave up sucking after a few ounces. So i ended up feeding them at midnight and 4am then started the day at 6.15 yuk At breakfast Amber nearly 6 ounce which is excellent! But Ruby only mananged 3 so i will try the dreamfeed at first nap with her today.
