We've only had it happen to us once, and I remember when It did I posted on here terrified it would happen again and asked for suggestions.
The few that I got were:

    1. Get a crib tent
    2. Buy those breatheable mesh bumpers
    3. Weave a sheet or something similiar through the crib slats so there is no room for little legs.

I hope it stops soon, its terribly frightening isnt it?!

THank you....It is very frightening....but luckily I know the cries whether, its there just crying and when they are stuck......I was thinking of toddler bed, but I know they arent ready for it yet....(least I dont think so) but I will try your tips

you could try the breathable bumpers (target has some, about $25) unless you've got avid climbers...my girls get their legs stuck but the worst it's done is give them a red spot-- I think it's just more frightening for them than anything else-- wish I had better answers for you.

My guys did that for about a week and then just stopped. I don't know if they figured out they shouldn't do it or if they worked out how to get their leg back out but it might not be something you actually need to do anything about.
I hate to spend money to fix a problem only to realize that the problem fixed itself. I'm embarrassed to admit it but when they first started cruising, they would just fall over backward like a sack of potatoes and hit their heads on the floor. Which was terrible for them and for me, they cried like they were on fire! So I freaked out and ordered them those stupid bumper bonnets (like i said, i'm kind of embarrassed about it now). By the time the bonnets arrived 3 days later, they had learned to fall on their butts and not straight onto their heads so i didn't even need them anymore!
If you want to how successful the bonnets actually were, (and get good laugh) check THIS out, turns out they did more harm than good!
Sorry about the tangent - my point is, could you wait a few days and see if they figure it out for themselves?

Good luck! Even with the bumpers mine always maneuvered their legs/arms over the bumper and still got stuck, LOL

I just pull them out. Mine used to do it on purpose, but now they have learned to jump  .

our boys sleep in gro bags, which stops them from being able to do that and also from climbing when the time comes. x

I have the crib shield, not just the bumper and it works great.

We used to have crib shields (the larger version of the mesh bumper) - now we have crib tents. They are very effective!

They're called Bumper Bonnets and can be found here. If you do wind up ordering one, I hope you have more luck than I did getting your LO to wear it :)

One of my DDs got her leg stuck a couple of times, but it never became a huge issue so I never put up any bumpers or anything.
