I wanted to get opinions on possible boy names for our 2 boys on the way. Middle names are already a certain thing. Lee is my hubby's middle name, his dad's middle name, and my brother in law's middle name (he's like my 2nd dad as all of my sisters are much older than me). James was my grandpa's (on my dad's side) name. My dad's name is Joe, not Joseph or anything, just Joe, and that was out of the question as a choice for me. Seeing as to how my name is Joelle and I get called Jo by friends and by the hubby.

    Cadence Lee
    &
    Riley James

    So what do you think?

Cadence is more girly to me and I prefer Rylee to Riley

Yeah, that's my husband's worry about Cadence.

Rylee to me is the more feminine way to spell it, but I don't know.

We can't seem to stick with 2 names

I love the names and I think Cadence shortens nicely to the very masculine "Cade"! Personally, I prefer Riley to Rylee - life is hard enough - should the child have to go to great lengths to explain his name spelling every time he makes a phone call for the rest of his life? The middle names fit very nicely!

That's exactly why I liked Cadence! I really wanted to name one of them Cade, but we both kind of agreed it was rather short for a name. So I figured Cadence worked great.

My hubby is deployed for a little less than three more weeks and he says we will sit down and pick names when he gets home. I have literally sat down and skimmed the whole section of boy names in the 100,000+ baby name book we have and I came out with only about 5 names that I actually liked.

I like them. I think Cade is a great name, but I never considered it as short for anything. I hope he plays drums in the high school band (Cadence, get it?).

I've also heard Caden with Cade for short if your dh doesn't come round to Cadence.

I won't do Caden because I helped named my great nephew, who is Kayden Lee. He's only 3 and his mom (my niece) is my best friend, so they would be around each other all the time.

I really like the name Cade! Also, for a boy, I think Riley is a good spelling. I have two different friends - one whose son is named Riley - the other whose daughter is Ryleee.

I really like Riley...probably would have named one of mine that if I hadn't recently given the name to my puppy.(And NO...I don't think Riley is a Dog's name either...just like it). She is a female too, but I know it is a male name...just wanted to name her that.

Spell it how you want. Some people are going to mess up names(certain ones...even common) no matter how you spell it anyways.

I'm Sean and I can't even remember how many times I was called "seen" when someone was reading off my name growing up. Really? "seen"? I was like...what about Sean Connery, Sean Penn...geez people.

    Great choices I thnk...
