    Hi Ladies!

I come to you in desperation...everytime I think of a name(s) for our twin girls my DH gives me the stink eye..the one and only name we tend to agree on is Emerson. We like Grace as a middle name so I need help with the second...our last name has a Y so I want to be careful not to sound to sing song-y...

    I have mentioned:
    Scarlett
    Charlotte
    Sadie
    Stella

any thoughts? I appreciate it so very much!!

I like either Charlotte or Stella. ProbaBLY Charlotte with Emerson as they are similar lengths.

Have you though about another surname to go with Emerson (which makes me shudder but it's your kid).
    Some I like are:
    Ainsley
    Delaney
    Kennedy
    Teagan

Emerson is a surname meaning son of Emery. So why not go with another male surname as a complement?
    Addison - son of Adam
    Madison - son of Matthew
    Jamison - son of James

I like Madison and Scarlett. And Grace is a really sweet middle name.

    Other thoughts:

    Morgan
    Evelyn
    Antoinette
    Taylor ** my fave

I wasn't clear if you're using Grace with Emerson or this name? I really like using another middle name in the same "theme"--like Joy, or Hope--for the second child.

When we were pg with our twins, I had a huge long list of girl names. Harper was my #1. :) Piper was #2, although we wouldn't have used those together.

I suggest Harper to everyone. :D

You and a friend of mine would get along great! Her first daughter is Laine, and she just had her second - Piper and Harper were on the short list, but she went with Harper. :)

Awww, lucky lady! I joked to DH the other day that maybe we should adopt so I can have a baby girl named Harper. :D

Dave Matthews fan? I'd steer away from Stella, people may pick up on it despite how beautiful it is.

We're using Grace as a middle, as well. Friends immediately asked if we were using Stella for the other...

I'm not a Dave Matthews fan, but Stella always makes me think of A Streetcar Named Desire.

This isn't what you asked and I may be causing trouble, but if you're having two girls and naming one of them Emerson, I would go with a gender-neutral name for the other one too. (Actually Emerson isn't gender neutral, it's a boy's name -- but that's getting increasingly common these days. Plus, technically I have a boy's name too, so I'm not one to talk. )

Anyway, if you name them something like Charlotte and Emerson, I would just worry that everyone will assume they're boy/girl. DH has a cousin with g/g twins -- one has a girly name, and the other's name ends in "-son," and we both made that assumption at first.

Even with two girly names, people we met on the street and stuff just seemed to really want them to be boy/girl when they were infants. Questions go like this: Are they twins? Which one is the boy and which the girl? (they are both dressed in pink...)

Frustrating in the first year, but it never happens anymore!

I love the name Emerson, because I'm a big Ralph Waldo Emerson fan. I especially love Emerson Grace.
I like names of similar styles with twins, so I like the origianlly a surname suggestion.

I vote for Harper Joy and Emerson Grace.

  14. I am new to the board. Found out I will be expecting twin boys this winter!

I love your choice of Emerson! Such a cute name...and I have to agree with some of the PP's...I think Harper goes well with it! (I am a little biased though as I have a 2 year old precious little girl named Harper).

I also love Addison with it as well!

    Elliot
    Parker
    Avery
    Peyton
    Cameron
    Brynn

I wouldnt go with another ____son name, too matchy-matchy for me

I thought the pp about keeping with a unisex name for the second twin was a good idea, though I tossed Brynn in there because I love it and I think it's beautiful yet you don't hear it a lot.

    Good Luck!! Names are hard!!

My daughter is named Sadie so I have to say I am partial to that name. I think Emerson Grace is a beautiful name. My other twin is Lauren and to me it goes well with Emerson. Both are strong sounding female names.

I had a miscarriage last fall and we had planned on using Emerson Grace as a girl's name so I love it. We're now having identical twin girls and talked about using Emerson and Avery. However, although we never found out if the baby was a boy or a girl we just felt like we needed to pick something different and are going with Avery and Bailey, but I do love the sound of Emerson and Avery together.
