    Hi everyone,

So I'm 17 weeks 2 days and am having some abdominal tenderness/soreness, which I notice most when I go to the bathroom and if I lean forward a bit on the toilet especially. It's not the regular stretching/pulling that I feel sometimes, it's more like a sore feeling that you would get with a bruised area or something. It has been around on and off for the past month or two, and it hasn't worried me, but I also haven't heard anyone else speak of similar feelings so I'm wondering...

Has anyone else had this? My "gut" feeling (pardon the pun) is that it's fine and possibly just some tenderness due to eveyrthing getting squashed and pushed around in that area especially now that my uterus is really growing, but I don't want to be ignoring pain that might mean something else either.

Any advice or experiences would be helpful!

    Thanks :)

I had some but I think it was because I had such a hard time staying regular... still do. Do you think it could be that?

I noticed this in me the day after I had lots of BH contractions. Almost like my uterus was sore from contracting so much. Maybe take an hour or so with your hand on your belly to see if you feel any? I've never had any problems staying regular, so for me that wouldn't be it, but that also sounds like a possibility.

Hi. I am 16.5 weeks and have been feeling exactly what you described for the past couple of weeks. I am the same as you and kind of ignored it but wondered if I should have... :) I have an appointment next Tuesday so will ask about it then.

Be sure to bring it up with your OB when you next talk to them :good:
Always good to mention that kind of stuff :)

    Hope you feel better!

I think it's totally normal, I've had all sorts of abdominal pain of one type or another, my poor belly has never had to work like this. But, with that said, I would still mention it to your OB at your next visit. They will make a note on your chart because later, you may have some other symptoms that in combination with the pain you're having could indicate something. In other words, you never know and it does not hurt to tell your doctor everything. If they are a good doctor they will know you're not a whiner or anything.

Thanks for all of the reassuring responses ladies! I am definitely going to bring this up at my peri appt on Tuesday and see what he says and just make sure that he is aware. There are definitely a whole truck load of new and off sensations that I'm getting used to so maybe this is just one of them.

Oh yes and I've tried to pay attention to see if I might be having any contractions, but I can't really tell. Sometimes my belly feels harder than other times which to me would seem to mean my uterus is harder or tighter...but who knows. Hopefully the peri will be thorough and make sure that there's nothing to worry about :)

Garden 2009 - We are just about at the same stage in our pregnancies and having the same issues...good to know that we are not alone!

Hi again. Yes, very good to know! I also have my peri appointment on Tuesday so let's keep each other posted! Will you also be finding out gender then? I am so excited!

We actually were able to find out at 15 weeks at the same (and only so far) ultrasound where we found out we were having twins! They said that we're having a boy and a girl :) I am eager to have a second u/s confirm this though as I know that 15 weeks is fairly early...the tech was 100% sure though she said!

What are you hoping for? Is this your first pregnancy?

We have a son that just turned three. I would love for one of the babies to be a girl but each combination seems to have its benefits. Girl/boy would be great. So exciting for you!! Is this your first pregnancy?

Yep this is my first pregnancy...and in fact it was literally our one and only try to get pregnant that worked! I personally was expecting at least a few months of "trying" but one night was all it took haha. We are so thrilled to be having a boy and a girl as our family will be complete in one shot...which is great news considering how awful my first trimester was. I'm not sure I would have wanted to do that again!

I really hope that you get your girl :) I assume yours are fraternal then if you're hoping that one of them at least is a girl?

I like the boy/girl combo especially too as there is no danger of them being all matchy machy lol and I think it will be easy for them to each really have their own identities.
