Hi Everyone - I am 9 weeks pregnant with twins and having pretty significant MS. How long did your MS last, and did you go on meds for it? If so, did the meds help? I'm considering asking at my next appointment. Thanks! Laura

I had "all day sickness" when I was pregnant and it lasted throughout my whole first trimester. I did not have any vomiting, so I just would keep saltines and ginger ale on hand to help out. If you feel that the MS is really bad, I would talk to your OB about it. Big  I hope you feel better soon!

My MS lasted 17 weeks. I had hyperemesis, which is extreme nausea. I couldn't keep anything down not even water. The only thing that helped was Zofran and Phenergen suppositories. The Zofran is very, very expensive. My insurance didn't cover it, so we ended up paying $1600 (with a discount) for 11 pills. It helped, but I couldn't take it all the time because I couldn't afford a refill. Definitely talk with your doctor he may prescribe you something especially if you are dehydrated.

    Hi Laura,
I had all day MS from about 6 or 7 weeks through to about 12weeks, which included all day feeling of dizziness and wretched car-sickness type nausea but I wasn't actually sick. also I was bone numbingly tired and didn't have any appetite - I had to force myself to eat and was very sensitive about what I would eat & food smells. then between 12 weeks and now, 15 weeks, it changed gradually to less tired, no dizziness and I only feel sick if I need to eat - which is about every 1 to 2 hours - then I get low blood sugar & sudden projectile vomitting! now I have worked out that as long as I eat very regularly and good quality food, I don't vomit. plus I try to nap for 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon - it helps with the sickness in the evening and I still sleep most of the night except for the pee trips.
hope this helps - I was getting very upset that I wasn't going to feel better in my 2nd trimester - but I'm learning that its a management trick - and once you work out how to manage the current symptoms - they change - I think my body is getting me ready for the chaos to come.
    good luck! :D

 Hang in there. I had all day morning sickness along with vomitting and it wasn't fun. Mine lasted for about 15 weeks. I didn't ask for any meds the thing that kind of worked for me was Jolly Ranches candy especially watermelon flavor.

I was put on sick leave in week 7 by my doctor for a month and a half with morning sickness pills called Lerigan. I had all day sickness as well, I had acupunture it helped too. At 16-17 weeks I landed in the hospital with dehydration and low salt levels because I was throwing up so much. T  hey put me on an IV gave me some salt and upped my dose of Lerigan, with 3 acupunture treatments during that week. Well it did the trick! I left there a new woman and I could even return to work. So far so good no nausea. Hope that you don't have to suffer with it for two long, and I would definetly ask for some help from your doctor. Cheers Julia

I had all day/all night sickness for about five weeks. Only actually vomitted once, but the nausea was bad enough! Luckily, mine didn't last that long, but as I was living it, I didn't have any clue how long it was going to last and figured I wold be dealing with it for at least 13 weeks! Boy was I relieved when it went away suddenly after only five! All that to say that it may not last as long as you fear...hang in there!!! (for reference, I didn't get sick AT ALL with DS...)

    Hi Laura,
I have had bad morning sickness (all day sickness) this pregnancy too. I am currently 15 weeks and still have it. It was at its worse though from weeks 6 - 10 and is a little better now (at least now I can eat and drink). I was prescribed a generic for Zofran so it is MUCH cheaper and totally worth the cost! It is a very safe medication too so you should definitely ask about. However, it doesn't make you feel "normal" by any means. It just takes the edge off for me so I don't vomit. I usually take it once a day. The only thing I have found that works wonders is constant eating... My co-workers make fun of me because I have a "convenience store" at my desk. I am eating small snacks all day long. That is the only way to get through the day. I forget what it even feels like to feel hungry because the only feeling I get is nausea when I need to eat. I am sure you know what I mean. :)

Lots of luck and I hope you are able to get some relief from medication. Hang in there... it has to end soon, right?!

Mine lasted from about week 6 until about 4 or 5 months. It wasn´t every day but I had good days and bad. The worst was at the beginning.

My OB prescribed me medicine and it helped. I also found that eating dry crackers and toast helped and not drinking too much liquid with meals (I´d drink in-between meals).

GL and congrats on your twin pregnancy. Hope you get some relief soon!

I had all day sickness from about 5.5 weeks until just over 13 weeks and it finally tapered off and is not completely gone! yay! I'm 16 weeks now and have been feeling totally normal again now for about a week and a half.

Hope it goes away soon for you!

When I was pg with my twins I had m/s from about 7-8 weeks till I was 19. I tried to take meds and vitamin B6, but the m/s made it diffucult to even take my synthroid and prenatal vitamin. I jus hope it gets better quickly for you!

You know, it really varies. I had NO morning sickness for either one of my pregnancies, but my SIL had morning sickness her entire pregnancy. I hope yours doesn't last too long!

All day sickness for about 19 weeks, and then off and on until 22 weeks or so. I was really sick with all of my pregnancies though.

I had extreme sickness from week 6 until about 20 weeks... a lot of nausea, vomiting and an inability to keep down fluids/water. I was put on the generic version of Zofran (much cheaper without any complaints from my insurance). It stopped the vomiting and helped me to keep down the fluids, but the nausea stayed around until about 20 weeks. I've tried to go off the meds twice since then - didn't work, so it looks like I'm taking them until the babies arrive.

Hugst to you for feeling better - I know it seems never ending. It will end though - promise!
