I can't make a decision. My girls have been potty trained - and doing very well with it - for about a month now. I trust one of them to tell me when she has to go and the other does pretty well, but occasionally needs reminders.

I am flying with the girls to Ohio in 2 weeks. A 50 min. car ride to the airport, and all that rigamarole, 1 hr. flight to PA, a 1 hr. flight to OH, then a 1.5 hour car ride to my mom's.

I try to not use the pullup crutch (but sometimes play lazy mommy if we have to be in the car for a while <img src="http://www.twinstuff.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />) all that often so I was thinking I will put them in underwear. But then I start thinking about boarding and unboarding the plane...the lines...the crowd...where is the bathroom...and I wonder if it would just make sense to plop a pullup on them. I'm sure one of them could hold it until we found a bathroom, I haven't tested the other one yet. I'm just worried about having to tote the stroller and all the gear alone...will we make it in time? And would it be worth it to pack all sorts of extra clothing just in case?

    WWYD if you were me?

My personal opinion on all this... use the pullups. :good: When we went to Florida we didn't use the pullups BUT it was me and my dh going. If one has to pee, the other has to come with you. Those bathrooms are SMALL for one person, let alone one adult and two toddlers. If Anthony were coming I'd say to try it out but not you alone. Plus if they have an accident you'll get all flustered ( I would ) between getting the bags down, clothes out, dirty clothes in, Alot of work for you. And like you said, you'd have to lug around more baggage. My vote is for the easier way of doing this.

We've done this twice, and we used the pull-ups both times. The first time was when I flew alone with Amy, a month after she started wearing underwear. The other time was a few weeks ago, when the girls had both been trained for several months. Even though they're good at holding it and rarely have accidents, I just didn't want to deal with the "I hafta go potty!!!" when we were in the security line or whatever.

The girls were fine with it. The first time, Amy was a tiny bit reluctant to go back to underwear, but I just reminded her that the pull-ups were only for traveling, and she got over it. The second time, they gave us no grief about it at all.

I'd put them in pull ups.

Are they used to automatic flushers? If not, they'll probably get scared, which could prove disastrous. I've tried to block from my memory Jacob pooping in his pants in the Miami airport because he was sacred of the toilet.

BTW, use a post it note on the sensor on the toilet. It won't flush until you remove the post it.

Yeah, if it's only been a month, I would use the pull-ups too. Just explain that it's only for traveling, we might not know where the bathroom is, blah blah.

If you can get them to potty right before you board, you'll be good at least till you are wheels up. Then you go again and then you land and go again....

BUT....I might use the pull ups too!!

Another vote for pullups. Automatic toilets proved a nightmare here!! One day in a pullup won't undo all the work you've done. With all the madness you'll be going through, one less thing to worry about for you, Momma!!

Thanks for all the advice!! :good: We have used the pullups on occasion now and they usually ask for them rather than their underwear but I just give them a "no" answer and move on and they don't push it, so I'm lucky in that regard. I think I'm going to go with the pullups. It's stressful enough getting through security and juggling it all alone, I just don't need the added pressure, KWIM? I just felt like a lazy mom for thinking this way.

They are used to automatic flushers and I have a cute story. Never did I think they would need to get used to them until they were on one for the first time and for some reason it flushed while one of them went (I forget who). I remember they both got upset because she wasn't done peeing. Not upset because of the noise, but because she wasn't done. Silly girls.

So guess what? I decided to bite the bullet and leave them in undies. We had NO accidents!! I pushed their limits a bit before we left to see how good they were at telling me they needed to go and was also trying to see how long they could go between potty breaks.

One of them did have to go on the plane this morning :bad: and needless to say the 3 of us wouldn't fit in so the wonderful (really!!) flight attendants told me to leave the other one with them. They were SO nice!!

I am so proud of them because this was a big success in my book!!

Oh I believe it, my girls were 4 (on the very day we were travelling) and I got that from everyone. Then they would say I was brave. I was like, I have no choice, if you think my DH should be here helping me, don't vote for 4 more years in Novemeber!
I'm glad to here no accidents! My girls actually won't go in pull-ups after they were trained. We tried it on a long car trip and they wouldn't do it, we had to pull over and let them pee outside. (Which they had done before since we are in the country a lot). They were a little older, but absolutely facinated by the variety of toilets, sinks and hand dryers we accounted in airports.

It most definitely does. This is our third trip this year (second one alone) and I was just thinking yesterday how I have no reservations about going on any trips with them now. :good:

Now THAT is a picture!! :rotflmbo:

People don't realize it till they see him move or I turn around and his little face is smooshed up on the side of the carrier and his white fur is sticking out! LOL!!

I secretly feel like wonder woman at that moment and then one of the kids brings me back down! :D
