I am having a hard time finding all the answers to my questions so here are a few that I have for you twin moms.

How often did you get ultrasounds ?

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?

    Reason for your C-section ?

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?

These are some of my main questions right now. I want to have a vaginal birth if everything permits. I feel very confident that I will make it full term. I have very easy pregnancies and births. Although I am worried if I will make it to the hospital in time though since my last labor was 2 hours and almost didn't make it to the hospital ! lol

    Thanks a bunch !!!!

I am having a hard time finding all the answers to my questions so here are a few that I have for you twin moms.

How often did you get ultrasounds ? A couple at the RE, one when I first saw my OB at 13 weeks, one at 20 weeks, 24, 28, 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, 37.

Did they always monitor your cervical length ? ( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored ) On the u/s? If they did, they didn't tell me. I didn't have a cervical check until 35 weeks.

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ? Not really - a LOT of swelling from fairly early on, but it was never anything more serious.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ? Delivered at 37.4 weeks. Was set to be induced at 38 weeks, my water broke, labor never progressed (I never felt a contraction or dilated past 1 cm), and eventually had c-section.

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ? No.

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ? C-Section.

Reason for your C-section ? Even though babies were both head down and my water broke and they had me on pitocin for a day, up to the max dose, labor did not progress.

Although I am worried if I will make it to the hospital in time though since my last labor was 2 hours and almost didn't make it to the hospital ! lol

Best of luck! Don't get too upset if it ends up being a c-section. We had everything lined up perfectly for a vaginal delivery and it just wasn't meant to be.

I am having a hard time finding all the answers to my questions so here are a few that I have for you twin moms.

How often did you get ultrasounds ? Well since I didn't find out until 19 weeks along, I only had a total of 6
ultrasounds. I think it totally depends on the type of twins you are carrying. If they are mono/mono or mono/di there would be alot more. It'll be interesting to see what answers you get.

Did they always monitor your cervical length ? I was never told what my cervical length was, but that doesn't mean my Dr. didn't know.
( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ? I had contractions starting at 26 weeks or so, but they did nothing to change my cervix. I had the fFN test done 3 different times and they were all negative.

    What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ? 37w3d. C-section Baby A was 6lbs 14oz. and Baby B was 7lbs 11oz.

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ? No NICU

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ? C-section

Reason for your C-section ? Baby A was breech and Baby B was transverse

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?

I hope you get a vaginal birth. I wish I would have been able to have one, but my babies got here safe and sound and that's all that mattered. Congrats on your twin pregnancy!!!

    1. Every 2 weeks and near the end, every week.

    2. No. They stopped measuring it at 33 weeks.

    3. In the beginning they were concerned that baby B had IGUR, but it resolved itself. They were monitored for TTTs all the way through, being mono/di.

    4. Delivered at 38.2 weeks

    5. c section

    6. MFM encouraged a planned c section and we agreed.

    7. No NICU time

Kenneth and Ian are 5 weeks old

How often did you get ultrasounds ?
I had then once a week starting at 20 weeks, but that's becasue I had TTTS

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )
They only checked mine twice the whole pregnancy

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?
Yes, developed TTTS which only occurs in Mono-Di pregnancies

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?
    34 weeks 5 days scheduled c section
Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
    1 week

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?
    c-section

    Reason for your C-section ?
Peri and OB thought it was best because of the TTTS, both were head down and could have come out vaginally.

How often did you get ultrasounds ?
I got an u/s at every visit, which was typically every 1-2 weeks.

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )

They didn't monitor my cervical length until about 20 weeks or so. After that they did it every visit/

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?

At 24 weeks I was admitted to the hospital for strict bedrest for PTL, funnelling, positive fFN, and out of control contractions.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?

I delivered via emergency c-section at 28 weeks 1 day (due to complications listed above)

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
My girls spent about 10 weeks in the NICU

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?
    Emergency C-section

    Reason for your C-section ?
They could no longer control my labor and baby A was starting to show signs of distress

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?
I did not deliver vaginally, but my mom delivered my twin brothers vaginally and 1 was head down and 1 was breech. She had no problems.

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?
    N/A

    Hope that Helps!!

How often did you get ultrasounds ? Monthly until the end

Did they always monitor your cervical length ? No, they did it for as long as they could through u/s and then they started doing it manually when I was 32?? weeks.

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ? I had no major problems. I did go to L&D twice for braxton hicks and I needed MORE water. <_<

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ? I delivered via C/S at exactly 39 weeks!

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ? N/A

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ? C/S

Reason for your C-section ? Baby B was laying across and I didn't want to risk a c/s and a vaginal.

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ? N/A

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ? N/A

How often did you get ultrasounds ?

At 7 weeks (to check for a heart beat, following IVF - they found two!)
At 10 weeks due to some bleeding.
At 13ish weeks, first regularly scheduled ultrasound with O.B.
At 19ish weeks - routine anatomy scan. Revealed a shortening cervix and some funnelling...
So every couple of weeks after that, to check the cervix.

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
    Yes, after that 19-week scan.

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?
I had the bleeding at 10 weeks but it wasn't a big deal. And then apparently my cervix was shortening and showing some funneling, so I was on modified bed rest (b o r i n g !) but the babies stayed put forever and I was eventually induced just before 38 weeks.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?
37.5 weeks, induction. Wish I'd waited another week, looking back.

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
Nope! They were 6 lbs, 2 oz. and 6 lbs, 9 oz.

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?
Vaginally. Twin B was breech, but flipped within seconds after his brother was born. A perfect birth with just 23 minutes of pushing for both babies. They were 8 minutes apart.

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?
A was head down, B was breech.

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?
    I was there from 9 a.m. and delivered at 11 p.m. But I didn't experience any pain until around 5 p.m.

    Good luck!

I am having a hard time finding all the answers to my questions so here are a few that I have for you twin moms.

How often did you get ultrasounds ? Once a month

Did they always monitor your cervical length ? I think so, but definitely at 20 weeks and beyond
( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ? I developed pre-e and had to be on bedrest from week 24 on

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ? I delivered at 34w5d, vaginally no induction

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ? One 7 days, the other 23 days

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ? vaginally- but I thought I was going to have to do a cs all the way until the end, both girls turned head down at the last minute

    Reason for your C-section ?

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ? both head down

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ? I think I was in actual labor for close to 24 hours, but only about 5 or 6 hours of "hard" labor, but I only pushed for an hour and got an epidural very early on. The hardest part by far for me was while I was pushing, it felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head. Everything else was a breeze!

I should have been smart like you and asked these questions before my labor and delivery! Way to be prepared!!! Good luck to you!!!

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ? Nope.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ? I scheduled a csection, my choice at 38w2d.

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ? Nope.

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ? Csection.

Reason for your C-section ? I chose one. I didnt want to labor and still have to have a csection.

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ? n/a

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ? n/a

How often did you get ultrasounds ?
    One every 4 weeks

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
    I think so, but I don't ever remember hearing a #

( my U/S tech said I would get an U/S every month to be monitored )

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?
    nope

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?
    38 +1, induced

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
    nope

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?
    vaginal

    Reason for your C-section ?

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?
baby A went to head down finally at 35 weeks and then my stinker baby b went to breech at 38 weeks. She did turn to head down on her own after baby a was delivered. No issues with her delivery

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?
I was induced and it was 6 hours from start to finish with only about 20 mins. of pushing total for both babies. I also had one prior birth, but that was also induced and took 20 hours (singleton)

How often did you get ultrasounds ?
Since my twins were from IVF, I had ultrasounds at my RE's at 6, 8 and 11 weeks. I had my first u/s with my OB at 18 weeks, then every 4 weeks afterwards.

Did they always monitor your cervical length ?
No. They measured it for the first time via u/s when I was in the hospital for pre-term labor.

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?
Everything was fine for me until the 3rd trimester. Around 31 weeks, I was hospitalized for 3 days for pre-term labor. I was sent home on bed rest. At 32 weeks, I developed a blood clot in my groin (called a DVT) and one in my lung (called a PE). I spent a few days in the hospital and was sent home on blood thinners. At 33 weeks, I was hospitalized for suspected intra-uterine growth restricition and low amniotic fluid for DS. It turns out I have a genetic blood clotting disorder that I didn't know about, so try not to worry about the blood clots! They're very rare.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?
34 weeks. My water broke on its own. I labored with pitocin for about 12 hours before I had a c-section for fetal distress. Both babes were head down so I would have been in the perfect position for a vaginal delivery.

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
    2 weeks

Did you deliver vaginally or C-section ?
    unplanned/emergency c-section

    Reason for your C-section ?
    fetal distress

If you delivered vaginally, Were both babies head down, or 1 head down 1 breech ?
    Both were head down.

If vaginally delivered, How long your labor last ?
Water broke at 9 pm, but contractions never really kicked into gear so I had pitocin started at midnight. I labored until 12:30 pm the next day before DS went into distress.

Every other appointment they would measure cervical length up until the last couple weeks, then it was every appt.

Did you have any problems during your pregnancy, if so what were they ?
I had a placenta previa, so we knew all along that I would be having a c-section.

What week did you deliver in ? Scheduled C-section or induction ?
    Scheduled C-section at 37.5 weeks

Did they need NICU time, if so how long ?
    No NICU time at all!!!

    Thanks a bunch !!!!

    Good luck!!!
